  1. I’m not sure if this counts, but it’s quite possibly my favorite collaboration of all time:prettyhurts:  Lana’s voice sounds gorgeous and fits the conversational lyricism so well, and Adam sounds so much like his father.

I’ve never been a fan of duets in general, but this is my exception—such simple delivery but still so genuine and impactful (especially towards the end):krylie:

How could it be ellie goulding when she doesn't even know how to make one good song let alone a masterpiece of an album.

But then again this is a Dua Lipa stans opinion...

If I remember correctly, other LB users mentioned that he made some not-so-complimentary comments about Ellie recently, so it seems safe to say that the “masterpiece” comment is probably not about her!

  3. You don’t need a reason to enjoy a specific song or artist:)

At the end of the day, no one will hear a song with the exact same life experiences you’ve had, the same musical exposure that’s shaped your taste and other personal criteria, etc.

Enjoy the art that makes you happy regardless of whether others appreciate it:true:

(That being said, it’s really nice that we can all relate to one mutual interest/appreciation on this site.):hype:

  4. Just now, Nova Times said:

it's like a slow simmering flame, the dips and the soft crashing of the chorus, there's a turning point feel to it imo

omg yes exactly!!! Something about the “you’re fucking crazy” line really ties it all together:prettyhurts:

  5. The main thing that confuses me about *that* site’s description of the record is that it’s similar to dream pop/R&B but also a better executed Blue Banisters?

Maybe I’m misinterpreting the description, but unless they meant lyrically, I feel like Blue Banisters is pretty far from R&B/dream pop:um2:

  6. If we’ve narrowed it down to Rihanna and Lana, I feel like Lana is way more likely because..

    1. Rihanna was spotted at a recording studio with A$AP Rocky only last month, so I doubt BoZ already has the final product unless she was merely accompanying A$AP Rocky to the studio.

    2. Jack was in Chicago at Riot Fest the day Rihanna was spotted at the L.A. studio.

    3. Lana’s already worked with Jack relatively recently, so it’s likely Jack has some role in LDR9.

    4. Rihanna has described the album as experimental and reggae-influenced, and (to my knowledge, at least) I don’t think he’s worked with that sound much in the past if at all. Although Jack is obviously a big producer, I feel doubtful she’d choose Jack for that soundscape given his inexperience with the genre.

    5. BoZ suddenly began praising Lana (after announcing Jack was involved with a masterpiece!!!), contradicting his previous disinterest in Lana’s music and his heavy criticism of her past 2 records.

    am I missing anything???

Lorde is the only one capable and she works with Jack. And we know she has a new album in the works.

Do we know if Lorde was mentioned in the replies before his second tweet? I completely agree that him aligning with Taylor’s praise for Lana is a good sign it’s about Lana!

I’ve had such a good feeling about LDR9, and it’s looking like we won:ma:

I know we’re tired of hearing this word but maybe “bombastic” was a clue after all…:oopna:

He said the artist he is talking about was in the comments under his tweets and Ellie wasn't in the comments. And he also said he will have to wait a couple months before he can talk about it which again wouldn't add up if he makes posts about it right now on ATRL.

This also aligns with why he suddenly shifted his stance on Lana! I genuinely think his tweet about her—I have no idea who else it would be about based off of the timing of his second tweet. We won:monica:

  9. Echoing and summarizing what other users have touched on..

Out of all the artists listed prior to Boz saying that the artist was mentioned in his replies, Lana seems like the most reasonable choice (although it does surprise me that he’s potentially being this positive about it).

Most of the other artists mentioned at the timing of the second tweet are those who already have singles out, have a tight security team in terms of leaking, are far from being done with their record, or are those artists Boz already anticipates to be good. Boz being critical of Lana’s past few records but more recently being receptive to Watercolor Eyes could support this, too!

Also, liking and unliking a reply about Lana seems really suspicious, especially after (if I remember correctly) that he liked a tweet not long ago asking if he wasn’t allowed to talk about her release. Could he have been joking or bluffing? Sure…but…

Then again, we have a lot of coincidences aligning, particularly with Ben’s comments. My guess is Taylor or Lana, but I would be genuinely shocked if Taylor’s leaked, and I don’t think he would be surprised to enjoy a Swift record.

I did consider Rihanna and Caroline Polachek, but from what others have said, it doesn’t seem like Polachek was mentioned until after his second tweet, and wasn’t Rihanna recently in the studio, suggesting she’s far from done? I guess we’ll find out:oopna:

BOZ just tweeted “the world is not ready for the masterpiece of an album that I just heard...”

then said the album he was referencing had already been mentioned in the replies.

edit: he also liked a reply about Lana and a gif about Lana, but no other replies.

Didn’t he really enjoy Watercolor Eyes?? Maybe LDR9 is closer to completion than we thought:oopna: (yes I know I’m reaching lol)

  11. I’m surprised at how interested I am in hearing this song! For me, at least, it was an unexpected turn of events even though I considered it a large possibility after the “Easter eggs.”

I definitely think Lana will play a major role in some fashion. I mean, Swift called Lana her favorite female lyricist and the most influential pop artist of our generation, so I think that respect and admiration would certainly lead to her giving Lana a lot of creative input.

Whether that will manifest as vocals, production touches, lyricism, or all 3 seems unclear, but I would imagine this is something Swift has been planning for and considering for quite some time, so I genuinely think that—because she almost seems to view Lana as a creative idol or major influence—Swift will want to ensure it’s executed really well. I think the main concern is how well they’ll “mesh,” but I have a feeling it’s going to be better than we’re expecting.

    We’ll find out soon!:ma:

  13. What’s interesting about that interview is that she ends it with saying that she can’t help but keep writing.

I suppose she could be talking about her poetry, but it wouldn’t be the first time she’s mentioned writer’s block and proceeded to churn out a ton of songs.

    She contains multitudes:ma:
