I know that this will never happen but I would love for Lana to go on Hot Ones to talk about the new album. Sean asks good questions I think she would appreciate.

I completely agree! Lorde’s was really nice to watch (and is almost a comfort video to me now), and I think Lana’s more tangential responses would work so well with the show’s structure.

I wonder if her team knows it exists and has considered her for it—Lana would be such a good candidate!

has lana EVER done this heavy of sampling? its kind of weird how much shes sampling other artists but she picked such beautiful songs so i honestly done care

I’m assuming it will be her most sample-heavy record to date, and I completely agree!

I understand why some people aren’t a fan of a ton of samples in general, but I don’t find it too different than a producer presenting Lana with a chord progression/instrumental and her assigning lyrics and a melody to it. I actually think it’s neat that she found a soundscape that resonated with her so heavily.

Also, something interesting I thought about is that it’s cool seeing her incorporate more modern tracks into her work. She’s always integrated older pop culture references into her music, so it’s refreshing seeing her draw from music more present-oriented!

the way Fishtail is like less than 10 seconds longer than this makes me think the full song is going to be sampled. Around the 1:28 mark where the light trap starts and there is that background noise, I get literal chills. For sure one of my most hyped songs, and I always trust my gut about these kind of things

That makes total sense, and I’m completely with you—I’m a big fan of more relaxed, spacious ambient tracks, and I think the beats will be a refreshing change of pace!

I do hope there are a few tracks similar to Fishtails just because of how nice the atmosphere is in the sample!

I’m sure this has already been discussed, but I’m really excited to see how this sample plays into Fishtails: the alleged Cinnamon Girl/TJF equivalent of the record (iirc).

The instrumental completely changes around 2:55, and I have a feeling that portion will be one of the more atmospheric moments on the record.

I’m curious to see if they’ll make any adjustments to the instrumental as well. I love how spacious it

sounds, but I do think some strings or some Lana-esque flair would really amplify it. We’ll see!

When he was talking about Kintsugi as their "magic moment" and not A&W, then what

I don’t know if I’ll agree with Jack’s taste, but he did say on Instagram that it’s his favorite song he’s done with Lana!

Now, whether that track is the “magic moment” with the recording is a different question:et:

The “automatic singing” she’s been talking about has already been 😬 for me, I don’t love how she’s just adding random trap beats to otherwise regular acoustic guitar/ piano songs and calling it “experimental” and i really hate “karmic lineage”:crai: the phrase itself and the way she uses it as a theme in her lyrics is very bland and annoying to me. However I hope I’m proved wrong and this truly is a great album because I love Lana and want to support her and love her music:crying4:

I have a feeling that A&W isn’t just experimental for including trap beats—BoZ knows Lana’s used them before, so there’s likely something else that makes A&W “unprecedented” is her discography!

Also, how do we know TUOB was one of the “automatic singing” tracks? I may have missed it if it was in an interview/post or something!
