  1. No worries I’m not going on Wikipedia. I try to keep up with global politics. I’m just pointing out how complicated these issues are. My point being it’s hard to discuss these issues on social media like what Dua was trying to do. These are very complex topics and can’t be overly simplified. I do believe that EU membership is in the cards for the Balkan states, but it will take time. I do think in this decade that Montenegro and Serbia can join. However there is still some more work that needs to be done before they can join.
  2. I have always wondered about this. It looks like Lana has a great relationship with her dad. We have seen her with her mom, but it’s been a while. Then she had that Mother’s Day post on IG back in May and it kind of makes you think there are issues. I believe her parents live in Florida now judging by Rob’s IG posts. Makes sense considering the fact that people are fleeing New York and for good reason. Lana probably wasn’t an easy child to have around. Mothers freak out when they see their daughters going wild. I get the impression that maybe Patricia was emotionally unavailable or just didn’t understand Lana and her issues. Lana could very well resent her mother. Who knows. Sending Lana to boarding school was probably her mother’s idea. We do know that Lana is a recovering alcoholic and has had mental health issues. I for one know what it’s like to struggle with mental health. As for alcoholism, my father had a drinking problem for many years. When someone is drinking you often want them to just stop. If they don’t then you kind of want them to go away and not do it around you. Hence, in Lana’s case, Lana being sent to boarding school. I think Lana’s art is how she deals with her personal issues. I remember James Franco saying that Lana lives in her art and I think that’s very much true. I am curious as to how Chuck and Charlie’s relationship is like with their mother.
  3. What’s funny is that despite this, we all kind of know that Lana does want to marry and have a family. Sadly, there is no such thing as “Mr Right”. As for kids, she doesn’t really need to have a husband/boyfriend. She can be single and have kids. I grew up as an only child and a few years ago I discovered I had seven siblings after finding out my father was working as a sperm donor before I was born. Two of my sisters were raised by single mothers. I’m not saying Lana should look for a donor. She can always adopt. I think she would be a great mom if she had kids. She has a heart of gold.
  4. No one wants to cede land, so this is why I support EU membership for those states. Serbia knows that they can’t get Kosovo back but they want to be in the EU. Hopefully Kosovo gets in too which should help cool some tempers. North Macedonia recently changed their name to keep Greece happy which helped them to join NATO which in turn will help EU negotiations. And Greece, they will never give up land to Albania. Look no further than the dispute they had with Macedonia, which is now North Macedonia.
  5. I love that album! Yes it is her longest record but it’s deeply personal for her. She had a lot to say at once on that record.
  6. So this is Dua's follow up-response on her post from a few days ago; https://www.nme.com/news/music/dua-lipa-clarifies-tweet-about-indigenous-kosovar-albanians-after-it-sparked-online-debate-2712426
  7. Looks fine and happy to me too! She is in NM now not for herself but for Navajo Nation. I think as her fans it will be important for us to focus on the issue at hand she cares so much about; making sure everyone in Navajo Nation has access to running water. I visited Navajo Nation myself when I was in AZ and they were really good to me, so I’m thrilled to join Lana in supporting the Navajo Water Project.
  8. Well to understand Lana’s impact we first need to understand where Lana’s inspiration comes from. So where does Lana’s inspiration come from? Her biggest influences are Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Nicks, Crosby, Stills and Nash, Neil Young. Laurel Canyon has had a huge influence on her art. We can’t forget about the influence Lou Reed has had on Lana. Even David Lynch’s art has had a major influence on her art. So Lana has a Rock and a Roll heart but a folk music soul. You can trace her musical roots all the way back to Woody Guthrie. So fast forward to 2011-2012 when Lana started shaking things up. At that time pop music was happy, fun and upbeat. But could people really relate to that? No. The music industry establishment itself was out of touch with the audience. Lana came in with songs people related to on a very deep level. She brought substance. The music critics were at first very unfair to her. She did not fit into the mold of a neatly processed pop star. She was not an industry plant like so many other people at the time. Lana was real. She received online hate because she was authentic, a woman and beautiful. But as time went by Lana secured a loyal fan base really fast. On top of that she was making money and money is what makes the music industry go round. And take my word for this; I come from a music industry family. My father is a Grammy nominated engineer, so I know what goes on. So the critics may have been unfair to Lana, but she secured and audience and was making money on one of the top record labels (Interscope). As for the indie genre, Lana’s impact has been huge. Without Lana you would not have Lorde or Billie Eilish. Lana paved the way for them so that they can be successful and win Grammys even though NARAS is yet to give Lana a much deserved Grammy. But Lana has done something very few musicians do; she has created a new genre of music; Hollywood Sadcore. Only recently people have finally started to recognize Lana’s impact and how she was the most influential songwriter of the 2010s. Taylor Swift said it best when she said that Lana is her favorite contemporary songwriter. You can even see Lana’s influence on Taylor Swift. When the history books are written, they will be very kind to Lana. 20 years from now the history books will look back at 2012 and say that Lana changed the industry. All the criticism from that time will be silenced. Let’s remember that many of Lana’s musical heros were not fully embraced at first. Bob Dylan wasn’t fully embraced at first. Now he is a Nobel prize winner. Bruce Springsteen who praised Lana last week had to deal with similar criticism from music critics. Let us be absolutely clear; Lana Del Rey is the greatest musical storyteller of her generation. As a songwriter she is every bit as good as Bob Dylan. And she is the best of her generation because she learns from the best; Dylan, Springsteen, Cohen, Michell, CSN. So to this new generation; Lana is the one who inspired them. Lana is to this generation what Bob Dylan is to the baby boomers. So what did Lana do? She did what she wanted to do. Never do something just because other people do it. Never follow the crowd. Make up your own mind and then do it. This is what Lana did. In The Departed, Jack Nicholson’s character says “I don’t want to be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be a product of me”. This is what Lana has done for the music industry. Lana will get the recognition she deserves. Maybe not today or tomorrow, but she will get proper recognition. She is a future member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. And speaking of Rock and Roll, Lana is the one who will save that genre. She has already created her own musical genre and she is going to save another one. A revival of folk-rock is already going on thanks to Lana. I can literally go on all day discussing Lana’s impact and where things are going. I have studied music extensively so I just love these kinds of discussions!
  9. The Lexus RX is the perfect luxury SUV. And you can get it as a hybrid too. Plus they are reliable which is really important. I like trucks too! It’s great being able to be higher up and see over everything else. That’s the great ting with the pickup trucks.
  10. She has had this car for two years now, so don’t be surprised if she gets a new car sometime soon. In my opinion, the Lexus RX would be perfect for Lana. Just my opinion though
  11. Currently she has the Chevy Colorado, but in a recent IG photo you can see the Jaguar F-Type in her driveway so I guess she still has that too. She had a Land Rover a few years ago. She also had a 2013 Jaguar XJ. Then of course she used to have that 1982 Mercedes 380 SL.
  12. If you look at the photo carefully, Lana is standing in front of her, rather than next to her.
  13. Basically Lana is a regular person who happens to be a great songwriter. It’s just that the Chevy Silverado is larger than the Colorado and even gets better mileage. If I move to Nevada I’d totally buy a Silverado.
  14. That wasn’t a fan. That’s someone she knows in ABQ. She owns a shop.
  15. Just wondering, what do you think inspired Lana to buy a pickup truck? She currently drives in 2018 Chevy Colorado. She has had a handful of different cars over the years, but I always wondered how she ended up with a pickup truck?
  16. Lana is Scottish. Grant is a popular Scottish surname. I think her ancestors came from somewhere outside of Glasgow.
  17. This trip wasn’t put together on the spur of the moment. It was planned in advance so I’m sure the planning took this into account. I wouldn’t worry about it as this is a humanitarian trip of sorts and those kinds of things were not stopped. These kinds of things have continued but with safety measures. It’s not like any mass gatherings will be going on and I’m sure most of her time there will be spent outdoors anyway.
  18. I sent this to some of the fan accounts on IG, as well as one of her friends. I’m sure Lana will get word of this. I don’t know why this isn’t a news headline? One of the all time great songwriters (Springsteen) praises Lana and the press doesn’t pick it up. Lana posts pictures from a protest and the press reports on what Khelani and Tinashe say. This is proof of the double standard Lana was mentioning in her IG post from May. That is very bias and dishonest reporting right there. Bruce praising Lana should be a news headline.
  19. So I guess Lana will be posting some pictures from Navajo Nation and pictures related to the Navajo Water Project.
  20. On the topic of politics, here is Lana as President!
  21. This is very much a political question and Dua’s position is to be expected. I live in the United States and our government recognized Kosovo as a sovereign and independent nation a few days after their independence in 2008. George W. Bush was the President back then. Barack Obama also recognized Kosovo as independent. In the eyes of the US Department of State, Kosovo is recognized as sovereign. Other countries don’t recognize Kosovo as being independent though. You can look up a list of who recognizes Kosovo and who doesn’t. As for Albanian nationalism, my country (the United States) have never endorsed Kosovo and Albania becoming one nation. As for Dua’s post, it does kind of suggest creating a nation along ethnic lines. So you can call that nationalism.
  22. Regardless I think it may be a very simple album cover. I’m sure Chuck has a plan for the whole thing!
  23. I love this series! I have it on DVD. David Lynch is one of the great creative minds of our time. The third season is perfection. That 8th episode was a masterpiece.... “Gotta Light?”
  24. I didn’t know that about her grandfather. I had been following her career since day one and this is the first so have heard of this. She has a lot of fans in Albania, Kosovo and Bosnia and Herzegovina. This IG post is obviously designed for that part of her fan base. I am a history nerd and have studied this region a lot. All in all, Dua is playing politics here. I know she really does care about the cause though. She’s very close to her family so the whole Kosovo situation is personal for her.
