If this album is a bit of a reset on her persona / totally new direction after the last 3 records then I hope she works with someone new on the album artwork. She’s reinvented herself numerous times through her career: from Lizzie to cinematic sadcore Lana to west coast grunge rock and roller to Honeymoon’s lush old Hollywood jazz singer to 60’s hippie beginning to self reflect on her place in the world to deeply introspective poet who can’t get off her piano. I hope she puts effort into the visuals again even if (actually, especially if) TRPWS is an acoustic guitar, stripped down album.

Gorgeous album tbh. It lives beyond the hype and "lore" of music that sounds like grail because stans can't actually touch or albums that were scrapped by record labels and that kind of thing. The world building, the lyrics, the goal achieved, everything is on point. I constantly think about that quote of Lana meeting Kahne and asking if he could make it sound "like a sad party" and the way it fits perfectly. And I have no idea of what she thinks of it now, but I'd say Kahne brought some of the most interesting productions while keeping it traditional and straightforward. Marmaid Motel? Gramma? These songs are next level, uniquely "Lizzy Grant" and no one can touch them. 
 
I wonder what she wanted to change when the album sat in label hell for one whole year, but the final product is still pretty much bulletproof and perfectly aligned.

Happy birthday to this absolutely iconic album  I honestly wouldn't have existed without AKA, it had such a tremendous influence on my own personal aesthetic

Is this real? Found on Discogs, which was uploaded 7 days ago. Says, it was released in 2008, also noted as Master Reference #1. @Dark Angel have you seen this before (asking you because you know a lot about LG stuff)? Maybe it's something it has been talked about here before but I have forgotten or missed it. I was just listening to Ultraviolence the other day and I definitely think Florida Kilos could have been placed better. I think it still belongs on the album, though, but I don't know where it would have gone better. I wish the deluxe of Ultraviolence was longer and included even more outtakes  If any album deserves it, it's Ultraviolence

Probably not an unpopular opinion but the Ultraviolence version of Say Yes To Heaven is way better than the released version. The released version is too atmospheric, maybe? It just does too much and it lost the magic of the demo version

ABSOLUTELY, if it had randomly leaked in 2020 everybody would love it and it would be cemented as one of her best unreleased songs
 
on that note... your girl most certainly wouldn't be as popular if it was released, it probably would be considered one of the weakest tracks off of ultraviolence

i apologize if i misunderstood your previous posts, your heart is in the right place and ultimately i believe most of us have our hearts in the right place, we might just not always agree or understand the ways we go about it, but regardless, we're all trying to make a difference and do the right thing, and it feels especially important to make different choices when so much is happening in our world, wars, conflict, division, and also the threat of the climate crisis, thankfully, more people are becoming aware of these things, but it seems like our world and our society is still so blind to everything happening and although i feel hopeful, i also very discouraged because it just seems like everything's getting worse and not enough people are really aware of it, but i do think it matters to be educated and to make better choices regarding where you spend your money and who you financially support if you're able to, and also educating others, and just being aware in general, i would agree that when something as awful as a genocide is occurring, we should be more compelled to speak out, and to care, we just get so wrapped up in our own lives, but we should care about others, especially those who's voices are silenced or stifled 

i think it's really sad how a real life world problem that is currently affecting thousands of people in a horrific way turns into just another way for teenagers on the internet to hold a moral compass on celebrities using buzzwords that slowly lose their original meaning

americans thinking not buying starbucks and mcdonalds is god’s work when their tax dollars are going straight to the IDF and the U.S. already donates billions of dollars to israel
