The book version is slightly different to the spoken version (again, spoiler, because I know most people don't have it yet)

    Instead of:

The city not quite awake, the city not quite asleep
The city that's still deciding how good it can be

    It's:

    The city not quite awake

    The city not quite asleep

The city that's something else - something in between

    The city that's still deciding

    How good it should be

    And instead of:

    Not you at your worst
Totally on fire, unlivable, unbreathable, I need you
You see, I have no mother

    It's:

    Not you at your worst-

    Totally on fire, unlivable, unbreathable

I don't deserve you at all

You see - you have a mother

Those last two lines are so sad

    oh well omg :xgiggle:

I don't think they're on the kindle version, I don't recall seeing them but I only skimmed through the poems I already knew (I've been really into this project since she was teasing it on IG so I actually pretty much memorised most of it so that I could keep it with me wherever I am) and read the new poems.

EDIT: Never mind, just saw an emoji in What Happened When I Left You lol

Ringtone was also a bit questionable

I really enjoyed Thanks to the Locals, although I must admit I was apprehensive when I read the title :oic2: I thought it was going to be about Twitter stans or something

She should have included Thanks to the Locals on the audiobook tbh inbetween My Bedroom Is a Sacred Place Now and Paradise Is Very Fragile. Agreed on Ringtone, I didn't care for it either.

It's like NFR in that she strung it out for way too long and shared far too much.

I really hope she refrains from doing the same thing with Iron Gates; it's much more exciting when you get a book and you haven't already read most of it.

I would like to see original art and more handwritten content than there is in the next one. Also, I would absolutely love if she put some lyrics from COCC in Iron Gates, complete with handwritten corrections, etc. That'd be really interesting and give an insight into her songwriting process.

As you say, it is what it is and it's nice to put on my shelf next to Florence's :agree:

Exactly. I thought I'd be reading 13 or so poems today but it's just 5 new ones (one of which is awful) and a bunch of haikus, most of which she already posted on IG.

I have Useless Magic too. :oic:

and the fact that she and gaga had a slumber party with lindsay lohan at the chateau marmont where they played board games and watched old movies together and god knows what else so iconic :makeup2:

They didn't, they were just at the hotel at the same time. Gaga and Lindsay did and then it turned out Gaga had a small part in Machete Kills. Lindsay was in the first one so it made sense. (Both films are shit btw, wouldn't recommend either of them).

ngl if I were friends with Lana, and fans were messaging me about her shit, I'd either get pissed or I'd message her and we'd reply with some bullshit answer just to stir up the fandom and watch as their lives fall apart...

Moral of the story, messaging Lana's friends, family and colleagues won't get us anywhere.

I'd just block them if they messaged me more than once tbh
