For FIILY, the most plausible lyric is « Jazz is in my veins ». On the non-single version of the song, which is more jazzy, production is a bit more

minimal and we can decipher the lyric better.

... oh ok, so it's neither chance or drug :stareney2: I'm kinda sad, I thought chance was so cool.

  2. As a non-English native speaker with terrible comprehension skills, most of her lyrics are indecipherable for me. :oic2: There's always that one lyric I can't understand but always manage to find some meaning to it even though it's nonsense (either in English or French :toofunny:).

First time I heard Get Free, I thought she was saying "out of the blah, into the moo" :cuckoo: I don't have any explanation for that, it's just what I hear.
In Ultraviolence: "We could go back to Woodstock where I don't know who you are" which I've always interpreted as "She wishes she had never met him" :usrsney:
In COCC: "Me and my sister just pay with Nico" like she sold her cat to pay a debt :wtf2:
I still don't know if she's saying "Chance is in my veins" or "Drug is in my veins" in FIILY. I think it's the latter but... eh? :crossed:

  3. I can hear the similarities between LMLYLAW and Fine China in the chorus, but as much as I love LMLYLAW, it's not nearly as devastating as Fine China is. :trisha:

I just think it was a poor choice for a first single but it will perfectly fit in the atmosphere of the album. Just listening to LMLYLAW after COCC is incredible :hair: Can't wait to hear the transition between the sultry TJF and the cute LMLYLAW.

  4. Lana, please, release White Dress so people stop fighting over whether or not instruments make music. :krylie:

On another note, LMLYLAW's simplicity makes it amazing. You don't have to sugarcoat your words to express your most beautiful feelings. The instrumental just echoes how vulnerable and sincere she is, without drowning in multiple layers of drama or whatever. I'm too lazy to develop, but dare I say I love that song with all my little heart. :lolliney:

  6. Maybe that's the real unpopular opinion but I really like Chuck. The more I'm browsing the forum, the more I feel like everyone hates that poor girl, which makes me kinda sad because she seems really sweet :bebe:

Slightly off topic, but I don't mind Lana's siblings using her fame simply because that's her family. They're all private people so it feels less like they're using her than enjoying their best life, and I really can't be mad at them for that. Plus, it's not like I've never been helped by my family to find jobs (or never helped my friends to find internships). Everyone does that. :crossed:

The track titles on COCC are...... so tacky and basic. I was really looking forward to eccentric/interesting titles like Tulsa Jesus Freak and Chemtrails Over the Country Club but instead we got a handful of vanilla Instagram captions like Wild at Heart, Not All Who Wander Are Lost and Dance Till We Die.

I was looking forward things such as Seafoam Nova :krylie:

No but really, we have TFJ and COCC so it's still a win for me. But I do agree the titles are somewhat basic.

I hope the link works. It was saved by a Lana Russian site but I don't know from where. I haven't seen this posted here yet and I have no idea who posted this originally. It's a clip showing Lana breaking her arm while she practice's skating. The other person with Lana is Chuck. She falls too.

Just a small warning. It's painful to watch and I'm sure the way Lana slammed against that wall, she must have had a concussion too.

Why does it look like a copypasta lmao? I'm laughing so hard, it doesn't even look like Lana and Chuck :eartha:

But imagine the music video featuring a scene like that... :hillary:

  9. I don't listen to Born to Die as much as I used to. :crossed: Otherwise, most of her work is timeless for me. I adore every lyrics, even the corny or cringy ones. Lana's music always had a special place in my heart because I've always felt like I was listening to a novel. I can always picture the landscape, the action, the protagonists, the story, so every time I'm listening to a song, I just have these images in my head. It feels like I'm re-reading my favorite books. Also, each song gives me a different feeling which I love to explore all over again. It's a really special thing I can't really explain, but I can say that I don't know any other artist who can do the same to me. :crai:

I can't talk about the production since I don't know shit about that, but nothing seems dated for me. But then again, I'm no musician or whatever, so... :stareney2:

I really sorry but some of u guys dont really just talk just... I saw alot of toxic comments out there.

I mean, there's toxic and creepy.

Some comments are indeed rude or mean but I don't think most users here are convinced they'll marry Lana or something. And when we're investigating, even if it's often intrusive, it's out of curiosity and not to harm Lana or her relatives. We don't have bad intentions. I think it makes a big difference. :crossed:

I dont understand in the slightest why everyone hates the children's children line in Coachella.. I like that line and find that whole part very sentimental and touching. like.. WHAT ABOUT all these children and all their children's children??? so true Lana... I also love the 'Stranger than a stranger' line in freak that everyone seems to hate as well. is it just the repetition that people hate cuz like why... :uh:

I've always liked the repetition in "children's children" because it always reminds me of a line in Les Colchiques by Apollinaire:

"Ils cueillent les colchiques qui sont comme des mères
Filles de leurs filles et sont couleur de tes paupières"

Found this translation, maybe not the best:

"They pick the crocuses which are like mothers
Daughters of their daughters and are the color of your eyelids"
