About Me
August 2011, I see a musical article on my favorite site and I don't click right away because I thought it was going to be a new artist not interesting, I was more on Pop artists when I was 18 years and the others did not interest me.
In the afternoon I decide to come back to this site because I didn't really know what to do and I tell myself why not listen to "Lana Del Rey". I was with my brother, then I click, it redirects me to an amateur video with a slightly poorly written title (Lana had posted it herself, no doubt) and it begins. Oh my God. It was so rare what happened to me ... I did not speak during the entire clip, I was stuck and obsessed with the melody. It was sadness and the artist that I was waiting for, there you have it, directly crush. And I bought the song because I loved it so much.
I listened to it for months and then came Blue Jeans later and I was also obsessed. I couldn't wait for the album anymore. It was long, a day before my birthday, she was releasing Born to die. I spent the weekend listening to him and writing lots of heartbreaking poems about forbidden loves of 40 year old teachers / young students (that I was), Californian deserts mixed with my bland and sad life. She gave me a lot of inspiration to put words and colors on what I was feeling inside me.
At school, no one knew Lana. And one day they asked me what I was listening to, and I took out my Blackberry and I put "Born to die" and they looked at me weird and told me it was "not terrible".
I had a friend at the time (who hurt me a lot ...) and I introduced her to the album and then she bought it. Then she introduced it to other bitches in my class and they all said "Oh yes who is it ...?" And they didn't like it.
With hindsight, it's crazy that she has become so known and loved by all listeners. His style was atypical and it was not won.
I am proud of her, and I will never forget her.
