re leaks of songs to-be-released: i think an "early leak" like we're talking about in this scenario is different – most of her albums leak about a week before the release date. if ocean blvd leaks weeks or months before that would be very abnormal and imo a completely different situation to something leaking a few days before the album is actually released plus i don't want it to leak because people will want to listen to it... it's way easier for people to not leak it at all than for her fans who love her and her music to not listen to something, in all honesty it's tempting to do for a lot of people and in an ideal world it won't even be an option and leaks of old material are a whole different topic (that i don't think we should start discussing in this thread)– but i will add that lana knows they're out there and she has in the past asked for certain songs to not be listened to/spread and for the most part people listen to that.

this time around i mostly care because of her stolen laptop and her specifically asking her fans not to listen to anything if it does leak ...she was extremely upset about it so if the album leaks early i'm sure many of us would feel really bad for her

it reminds me of ride except in ride she takes a breath in at the start of ride rather than in/out in ride, to me, it really builds a need for release & a sense of anticipation... ocean blvd on the other hand starts with this huge cathartic release, it's also filled with these little exhale-like sounds throughout the song (if i remember right). i think it works perfectly with the ideas of the song and the emotion of it because she's opening herself up after being closed off for so many years, saying exactly what she needs to say, letting all her intense feelings out into the world, so of course it starts with a huge breath in and out. it really is just perfect also the fact that it ends with a sound that's sort of like a needle scratch/stylus being picked up off a record... obsessed i'm obsessed!!!!!!!

i have (some) faith in drew ... i enjoy his work with lana (most of it) and if boz likes it but didn't like his tracks on BB then i feel like there's something better or different about them we also only have the writing credits (i think!) so it's possible there are multiple producers on drew & lana songs – like there are more producers on ocean blvd than just mike hermosa – which would be different from BB. we'll have to see about that one though

she is also releasing ocean blvd on the 69th day of the year a slutty album from birth
