pink champagne made me appreciate this song even more. yes i won't deny the latter being better but don't you get how cool it is to rewrite such a depressing song into this whole ready to make a big life change moment in a relationship song? i'll forever adore this song and the whole album

the thing is you could tell her main intent was to have a sonic shift from the born to die sound. keeps getting me excited about her next one

this would've been such a cool album conceptually and it may be gone but we really did end up with Ultraviolence
hope it sees the light of day

it's not just sonically it's also thematically! but yeah more bops would be nice

the thing she said in the les inrocks interview is whats getting me going about LDRX like we might as well get our next classic from her
like i think Ocean Blvd ends the narratives and topics explored on Chemtrails and Blue Banisters and does it so beautifully especially with "Grandfather..."
i could talk about how genius Ocean Blvd is for hours even when she claims she was putting it together based on vibes
but her saying she wants to take more risks is so exciting especially her using A&W as an example... i hope she takes her time i wanna miss her for once lol

the intro... fucking chills
flipside too ughh
i adore the choir's adlib on diet mountain dew it really elevates the song the bitches that night were LUCKYYYYY!

THIS is the song that NEEDS an ice spice remix or any rapper really. like ugh it'd honestly be cool like someone do something
edit: someone get cupcakke or tommy on this

imo i like this version it makes the whole vibe ethereal and y'all who are complaining are lowkey looking for any reason to complain. maybe she does alter things we love about the demos in the final but usually they're always the right choice. i personally hope she releases some demos like some btd tracks and LFL TITLE TRACK
anyways, lets just celebrate that she put out an unreleased song and that we're getting cool streaming numbers out of it

"But you still can find me
If you ask nicely
Underneath the pines
With the daisies
Feeling hazy
In the ballroom of my mind
Across the county line"so good
the lyrics are just the surface... this song is one of the few songs where she's revealed that the person she's singing to throughout the song is a metaphor for fame
-
great choice for a topic! she tackles fame on almost every album... her most interesting take imo is on 13 beaches
