Country boots you say hmmmm... 🤔 lol

Anyways drop the song now, like this Friday and release the video a few weeks later.

    We need the track now!

I can't see them dropping the song before the video, unfortunately. And even if the video is storyboarded and they know exactly what shots they need, it'll still take weeks to edit, do color correction, etc.

When we heard about Chemtrails MV shooting, we had to wait a full month for it to drop. And that video was still nowhere near as good as the Born to Die video, Ride, Shades of Cool, Candy Necklace, National Anthem or Young & Beautiful, which for me are her finest.

It seems to me that we'll get this video + song somewhere around June 13th. Which, honestly, tracks well with Lasso's supposed September release. First single June, second single August, third single September.

So, it could literally be that Lana is feeding us exactly when she's supposed to - three months before the album release date. Maybe we shouldn't be annoyed, but, like, happy she's on schedule, for once. lmao

  2. Theory:

Lana's decided that LDR 10, being her 10th record, should absolutely eat and leave no crumbs. So, she's enlisted Billie, Quavo and possibly Taylor and the Weeknd for collabs, guaranteeing through-the-roof streaming numbers for years to come.

    Evidence to support the theory:

    - Quavo collab confirmed, MV on the way, Quavo's last album only released last year, so this more likely to be a Lasso collab. Same style of visuals as Henry (tho I know she's used this filter before)

    - Lana being super chummy with Billie for ages, the interview they did for OB, the Coachella collab, and now literally "We had fun in the studio. Love you" from Lana - after Billie's album's already been pressed.

    - Lana texting The Weeknd a lot, and the two of them still being on good terms. The word "Moon" used by both at one point in time, leading fans to speculate that a collab is on the way.

    - Taylor - super chummy as well, they share the same producer, doing events together and hanging out; Lana already collabed with her on Midnights. Perhaps it's time to refer the favor? Especially since Taylor made her success in the country (Lasso's) genre.

Anyone else buy into this theory? If so, which of these four would you like the most?

  3. This article says a possible Lana x Billie collab might be happening.

    https://uproxx.com/pop/lana-del-rey-billie-eilish-collaboration-teaser-instagram/

Apparently, Lana said to Billie via IG "We had fun in the studio" on May 9th.

So, since Billie's album wrapped a while ago and had to be pressed, is it safe to assume that this is for Lasso? Or could Lana have been referring to "having fun in the studio" months ago? Personally, I don't think she'd be writing that comment that late after the supposed collab. Also, LDR isn't present in Billie's tracklist.

So, Billie x Lana on Lasso?

Sorry if this was discussed/posted ages ago - I just discovered it now.

I wonder if we're actually getting this album anytime soon, with it being worked on for years and Tough being recorded in February... :bebe:

We just need to find out from a reliable source if Tough is for Lasso or Quavo's jam.

If it's for Lasso, and she's teased it and she's making an MV for it, then it's safe to say the roll out for Lasso is starting in June/July and we're on course for September.

If the cut is Quavo's, then who knows - we might get Lasson in September... of 2025.

We need to find this out, and soon.

Well idk if there’s really any confirmation but patene said he believes/wonders its a rework of a lfl outtake that was titled “good intentions”

i highly doubt that. Grandfather is very NFR coded.

Add it to NFR instead of TNBAR and you'd never think it didn't belong there. If anything, NFR woulda been better for it. Grandfather >>>> TNBAR.

I don’t know about you all, as much as I want this song, but I prefer it to be Quavo’s, I want lasso to be a cohesive album like with real country songs

You know that's never gonna happen tho. Lana doesnt really do cohesive one genre throughout.

even if this song is quavo's, you betcha that you'll be getting some piano, and some trap weirdness and god-knows-what-else on lasso

i think that lust for life is cohesive but i don't bother explaining it because it would be a long ass essay. i don't really care if the album is cohesive or not, idk why people care about cohesion that much, like focus on the story of the songs, not album - that was kinda the point of ocean blvd as well.

    omg she gonna re-record 24 (lana's version)

i mean, OB wasn't very cohesive but still works as an album.

i'm not bothered about that. Honestly, I just need that quavo bop to be good and join my list of lana bops, and i'm  good.

i'll take prettiest girl in country music too, and the album for me is already great.

please god let that quavo cut eat and be on lasso 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I was hoping Lasso would be an 11 to 12 tracks solo album with no collabs or covers, but it is what it is. She had other ideas apparently. I also didn’t expect her to go back to a commercial poppy sound with this album. Esp after Ocean Blvd.

I really thought we’re going to get a classic country album. Like a country country album or a western infused country album because we know L4na is capable of doing that, but it is what it is once again. Like I was shatting on Bey0nce for polluting the genre. I’m not saying you can’t mix genres, but I don’t like how B3y0nce did it. It feels very gimmicky. Cowboy Carter is not really a country album imo. It’s very much like she said. That it’s a B3y0nce album. And she didn’t lie. It’s R&B music with country influence.

Lasso seems to be a commercial hip-hop pop “country” album with rappers which I fear could be gimmicky as well. Like I want timeless sounding songs and songs can be used as soundtracks to movies or real life or your own life. A country song with a rapper was the last thing on my mind. I really did not think that she would go this route.

Sorry you're not on board with this possible direction of "Lasso". Keep in mind that none of this is confirmed yet. Could just be a Quavo track.

However, if it is the direction this is going in, don't be that surprised. Remember that Lana said "I wish my last album (OB) had gone as viral" after that waffle moment.

She could just be annoyed with her last three albums perhaps not performing well, and wants to recapture some of her previous commercial success.

And that doesn't mean that Lasso won't be packed with great (pure) country songs. Maybe 10 country songs  with 5 spicy upbeat rap/trap. Would that be so tragic?

A LFL pt. 2 scares me, because it took me years to appreciate it

i hated that there were too many collabs (still stand that the demos we had one those are better)

I didn’t understood the rap infusion (because it was so different to her previous sound)

and I didn’t like how it didn’t feel cohesive at all

I’ve learned to love it now- and I do enjoy the rap ones, they’re really summer bops.. though I’ve never liked the title track.. I know she could do better than that from a collab with Abel. Buuuuuuuut, when ranking her records.. LFL is never in my mind for the top consideration

But then heroin is my favourite overall song from Lana, so yeah, I don’t know..

i guess it would be just a case of there’s something for everybody and some tracks that I will completely love..  but not a record with zero skips, which is kinda sad, because the reason I love Lana so much is she has records that I just love listening to from start to finish

I always liked LFL. It has a large number of solid cuts - perhaps more good songs than any album preceding it, given its length and ambition.

A record that featured Lust for Life, Love, Summer Bummer, Groupie Love, God Bless America, When the World Was at War, White Mustang, Cherry, and Tomorrow Never Came - all on one record? I mean, wow. It was her most commercial effort since BTD, in addition to being a bit edgy and experimental.

The issues I had with it is that it still featured terrible songs like Coachella (awful) and Change (boring af).

But it still packed more good songs than BTD, UV and maybe even Honeymoon.

NFR was the first album for me that was a near 10/10 (woulda been a 10 without TNBAR).

Has anyone thought of the possibility of Lana dropping two projects this year? I just dont see her launching her country album with Though…? It could be for Quavo’s album, but idk doesnt seem like it?

a fun trap/hiphop summer album and for autumn Lasso??

i mean, we got chemtrails and bb in one year, so not impossible

But the guitars on Tough makes me think it's all one album with a genre crossover.

with the way she looks right now and those beats, this will be her biggest hit since doin' time

I hope the song drops in the next month but I think the MV would need at least 8 weeks of lead time tbh. I am hoping she chooses not to wait and drop the song first, otherwise I’m expecting a July mv/single drop

typically she takes at least a month to wrap up a video. Do we know who the director is?

First single from Lasso is here :trisha:. I’m back sooner than expected because of this  :toofunny:.

People still asking if it’s for Lasso when the leaker literally said it’s a COUNTRY song. Anyway, from the snippet I really like how it sounds. It sounds like “Summertime Sadness” to me. It’s crazy. Like a more happy and midtempo version. Just very summery. A vibe.

“Summertime Sadness” has this underlying western influence which is also partly “country” music. Genuinely hope the album is filled with “Twangy” sounds and guitars.

Also, this sounds very commercial. Unexpectedly so. I really thought the first single would be something more traditional. Like a traditional country song. Very classic sounding. A acoustic guitar country song like you know the Henry snippet. L4na has been releasing very uncommercial first singles or just singles in general since NFR. Doin’ Time was the only proper somewhat beated “bop” song she released since 2019. This is very unexpected.

what you just said is literally what i've been praying for. Is this is indeed the first lasso single, then this is the most excited i've been for a lana release since nfr.

  13. 34 minutes ago, Xenoblade 3 said:

I’m going to reiterate what the leaker said one more time:

Her “Old Town Road” is coming :oprah4:.

literally what i manifested lmao. And you all laughed me off.

and now everyone cant wait to get on lana's old town road hehe

what did i miss??? We're getting an mv?

At least this time she said twice she plans on releasing it this year... our first NFR "date" was "I have no idea about when it's dropping" on one of her old twitter accounts  :hide:

Ideal scenario: we have Henry, Tough, Prettiest girl and 10+ more songs all ready. The album is a cross between country, trap and electronica but blends seamlessly, with Quavo, The Weeknd and Billie on the trap/electronica side, and Nikki, Taylor and Orville Peck on the country side. Production by Antonoff, Cirkut, Luke, Rick and others, all bringing their A game.

Some of the songs are teased until September in the same style as Henry and Tough, with the lead single coming in June, second one in July and third in August. All of the singles eat and at least two chart (Quavo, Taylor?)

The album is released in September and becomes her biggest commercial success since Born to Die. It features a glorious rap country bitch cunty cover with insane fashion by McQueen that eclipses even Beyonce's cover, shot by Neil.

The album gets a 9.5 review on Pitchfork and Fantano fangirls over Lana again saying "Lana has finally done rap/trap right." Ajay cries her heart out and screams "Mother!" 7,000 times while shaking her booty to Quavo.

Do I even wanna think about any other scenarios? Nope.

I expected a basic trap beat but it's actually so good ???? It's so lush.

I can totally see this on Lasso cause I didn't expect a standard country album and it has pretty guitars but the fact that Cirkut produced this is so funny to me :hide:

The insider said that it was a Lana track and we got the same type of polaroid and filter from Henry... and I don't think Quavo announced or teased any album coming soon so... it's Lasso time :dance4:

Even though I must say I find Quavo kinda boring as a rapper. It's like the less interesting version of Roddy Ricch

Still excited cause it sounds really good tho

    what else has cirkut produced?

edit: just checked, loads of songs on abel's

    starboy.

you know, if he's part of lasso and he brings on abel for a song or two, in addition to migos, we would have a multi platinum born to die sequel.

remember when lana said the last famous person she texted was the weeknd? Maybe they were cooking up sth together.

Manifesting country trap crossover with quavo

    and the weeknd

This all makes total sense 👆🏻

also, if quavo was behind this, he'd probably have mentioned a release date. But since it's lana, we get a snippet and then no word on it for months - like with henry. Even the aesthetics is the same.

ladies, gents and non-binaries, i fear we might be stepping into another nfr era. Snippets, snippets everywhere, but no official releases or dates.

  17. 3 minutes ago, domandapiano said:

Yeah the Polaroids and the lyrics to the song definitely give country so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was for lasso, tho now I’m a little confused about the overall sound because the snippet doesn’t sonically read country at all. I’m just hoping whatever she puts out is cohesive. I know Beyonce managed a massive melting pot of genres that still felt like it all belonged together with cowboy carter but this snippet isn’t really giving cowboy carter levels of production so…. :delish2:

huge fan of cowboy carter, and huge fan of this quevo snippet.

nothing will beat CC's production this year (periodt) but the quavo sample is pretty swell. It's just different vibes, styles and production.

i for one hope this song is on lasso because we need some adrenaline. We need trap lana back. And most of all we need lana on the radio, in clubs, restaurants.

dont mind a stand-alone thing either.

we will get that top 10 hit :creepna3:

I reckon spot 21 at best. Billboard is not too kind to lana. Even AW which got rave reviews and was hugely popular didn't even make it to the top 100. None of the tracks off her last albums did, and none from Paradise.

Only BTD (2), HM (1), UV (3), LFL (2) and NFR (1) had entries. And they even miscalculated High by the Beach placing it in the top 20 at first only to announce it was an error and gave it spot 51 or sth like that.

That being said, M.I.A. landes her first number 1 after making that collab with Travis Scott, so who knows. Lana is on a high lately, with lots of great publicity, so the time to land another top 10 is now!

The track just needs to deliver on the incredible promise of that sample 🤞🏻🤞🏻

I feel like I predicted this back when they first started being sighted together and honestly I'm not mad...

"Between this and the country album, why do I feel like we're gonna end up with her Bangerz instead. I remember Pharrell and Miley calling Bangerz a country/hip hop fusion something like "dirty south"."

i mean, i've been manifesting a bop and a collab with quavo for months. Even had him in my imaginady lasso tracklist, along with the weeknd and billie.

if this album ends up being a country/hip-hop/electronica masterpiece, you guys have only me to thank for 🤪 joking. Well, half joking 😆

  20. 5 minutes ago, bluechemtrails said:

idk what it means for Lasso, but the song seems to be made for the charts, he's produced a lot of hit singles :excited:

I just checked and Quavo's last album came out last year. The one before that, came out in 2018 (5 years ago).

It's very unlikely that he suddenly has a new album if the average time it takes him to make an album is 5 years.

So, that means this collab is either a stand-alone single, or a Lasso single. Which, given the visual direction, might be true given how similar it looks to Henry.

Could we be getting our first Lasso single?

  21. 15 minutes ago, Rust Dress said:

lana’s songs over guitar are just amazing sorry not sorry. but this makes me wonder how country Lasso is going to be if this collab is on the album… im worried the songs just won’t make sense together :stareney2: hoping she pulls of a cowbay carter and makes everything cohesive

I just realised... This can't be on lasso because the production sounds more migos/quavo than lana.

jack couldnt produce that. He's never done beats like that. I reckon this is a stand-alone single.
