  1. No, both scored below 8 (7.5 Chemtrails, 7.7 BB). The only LDR album that got "Best New Record" was NFR. Btd - 5.5 Ultra - 7.1 Honeymoon 7.5 LFL 7.7. Norman - 9.4 Chem 7.5 BB 7.5
  2. Miley Cyrus's new album got a 6.2 from Pitchfork. Oops (Totally deserved low score, I couldn't even finish the album). Hopefully Lana scores a "Best new album" tag, which I think is anything 8.1 or above.
  3. This sounds possible. We know she had signed up for Alice before, and with Maleficent in the past, she clearly has a working relationship with Disney. I wouldn't be surprised if she was hired to produce a song or cover one of the iconic songs from before. That said, the Little Mermaid o.s.t. is one of Disney's finest, so the bar is very high, especially with Alan Menken still around and contributing to the movie. We'll know soon enoguh.
  4. It's a fine song, but why everyone keeps bringing it up is beyond me. I guess some people think that the BIG SHOCKING NEWS Boz mentioned could be Lana releasing this old unreleased track on Spotify.
  5. What a beautiful post. I feel almost the same. I feel like a heroin addict who needs to get his fix soon. Honestly, we need a miracle, and we need it soon.
  6. Why is there any debate on that when Lana calls it a "spoken word album," and it's described like that on Wikipedia and everywhere else, and there's even a Grammy Award category dedicated to that genre in particular? Once again: an audiobook is merely a reading of a book by an actor or sometimes a famous actor. Is Violet just Lana reading out her book? No.
  7. An audiobook contains no music. It's simply a reading of a book. Like the books you get on Auidible. Violet contains music as an integral part of it. And that's called a spoken word album. Also, just fyi, that's what Lana calls it herself (not an audiobook).
  8. Yes, Guns and Roses, too. Very little effort from LDR on that track. What's VFR? Anyway, we should probably stick to the topic (Ocean Boulevard) - don't want to get a warning point. Over & out.
  9. Super glad you like those. I like Old Money, but "Fucked my Way", "Sad Girl," and especially "Money, Power, Glory" all kinda sound the same to me. Also, my ears can't stand The Other Woman for some reason. But that first half of the record - omg, probably her greatest achievement to date. As for Violet, I write for a living, and I appreciate her efforts to both quote and write poetry. A critic once said, "If LDR was a Spice Girl, she'd be literary spice," which I fully agree with. I love Lana for the lyrics mostly, and the images she conjures up. But as far as poetry goes, most of the poems are a bit of a rambling mess, IMO. Violet and Happy are inspired though. Again, that's just my opinion - glad you're into them.
  10. Huh? Just because I say there are a few skips on a record, it doesn't mean I don't love them all. But a ranking has to be made somehow. Hence, going the way of skips! The only albums I don''t listen to are Violet and BB. Huge fan of most of the others.
