  1. I'm not gonna read a long-ass childish insult-type post that kicks off by calling me stupid. Speaking of trollish... Message me when you grow up
  2. You do realize she co-wrote a lot of her songs? Also, she's done dozens of covers, with Doin' Time being pretty successful and a really fun Lana track. She herself said she wouldn't mind if someone else wrote her a song. Lol. She said she wouldn't mind it. It's on youtube or a podcast, but she said it for sure.
  3. That's my main point. Too many ballads churned out. I don't necessarily need these songs to sound like Summertime Sadness or Blue Jeans. But why not songs like Cola, Doin' Time, High By the Beach, West Coast, Gods and Monsters, Ride, even Cherry or Love... Songs with OOMPH to them, that aren't just laser-focused on the piano and melancholy lyrics. Lana was more multi-faceted earlier, that's for sure.
  4. OMG Conceded much? No idea who you are and haven't mentioned you once. Only replied because you called me out inadvertently. Byeee Well, that'll happen regardless of what direction LDR10 goes in. Also, no arguing, no worries. #GoodVibesOnly
  5. Lmao. Your opinion was that you're tired of other people's opinions here. And that, sir, is disrespectful.
  6. I mean.... he's outright whining about people wanting bops, and I'm very much in the bop camp. #BopTeamUnite! Lmao
  7. I wrote a number of posts about wanting a bop on this thread, and then you posted right after saying " I get kinda bored reading the same comments about wanting Lana to get back to doing “bops." Interesting that you weren't talking about me then. Also, couldn't care less if you read my posts since you're a complete stranger. Why d'a even tell me that? lmao
  8. He replied to my post (or, rather, series of posts), dissing it. It's my opinion and I have a right to feel a certain way about my favorite musician, but he criticized it as invalid somehow. What I said was that I have a right to my opinion, and the yawn was directed at anyone who feels like they can invalidate a person's personal view on a public forum. I hope that clarifies it for you. As for the pop debate, pop music comes in a broad range of shapes and forms. At the end of the day, f it becomes hugely popular, then it's a popo song. Sinead O'Connor's Nothing Compares to You, while not a "conventional pop song" managed to get her to #1 worldwide and elevate her to a pop stardom. Therefore, I'm not talking asking Lana to sing "Hey Mickey, you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind" and turn herself into something she's not. That's not what I'm saying, and I know many others agree on this forum and off it. I'm simply hoping she'll go back to her lighter side and release a less melancholic, more approachable, upbeat single more akin to her earlier output like Doin' Time, High by the Beach, Blue Jeans, Summertime Sadness, and beyond. And again, whoever disagrees with this and doesn't miss this stage of her career - good for you! But please don't moralize fans about what they should want or not want. It's a personal opinion. Thanks
  9. OR, we can all just have our own opinions, needs and expectations? There's absolutely nothing wrong in expecting a pop start to make a conventional pop song. If you don't agree with it, you don't have to engage.
  10. Good for you if you can twerk to sad ballads
  11. Seriously? Low-fi beats in a quiet slow-burn trip-hop ballad like Tulsa Jesus Freak doesn't make it a bop, duh
  12. Yes, another Ride and Venice Bitch fan <3 Thanks for rating.
  13. Jon Batiste album is panned by Pitchfork. (5.6) https://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/jon-batiste-world-music-radio/ The jazz multi-instrumentalist wants to unite the world in song. But his new album collapses the wide-ranging possibilities of global music into something for everyone and no one. Unsurprisingly, doesn't even mention the lackluster collab. I'll write it off to being a favor to Jon Batiste for his input on OB. Thank you, next! The song is really best not be promoted much. Not surprised she doesn't want it on socials.
  14. I second this. As much as I miss beats, I also meets huge orchestral productions ala Ride, Born to Die and Young and Beautiful. Like, if you're gonna do a ballad, do it right. None of that minimalist Sweet stuff. That being said, OCEAN BOULEVARD's PRODUCTION (title track) SLAYED BEYOND REASON.
  15. petition to ban piano ballads from this forum 😂
  16. i'm sure it is, bro. But then she had so many before, like one or two on every record. It just seems like she stopped trying with Chemtrails. Which was, unsurprisingly, her first album without an entry in the Billboard 100. Then we got two more... Like, just don't release the record until you have a bop the kids can shake their booty to. Just like High by the Beach was added last minute. I'm all for creativity, but this is a business decision. And if you can't write one yourself, hire someone to do it. Look at what Unholy did for Sam Smith, on an album otherwise swamped with ballads.
  17. ummmmm, like i said, taco is a bop (minus the first 3 mins). The rest are def not hops
  18. 1. mermaid motel (demo) 4/10 2. yayo (AKA version) 3/10 3. pin up galore 2/10 Sorry, but I'm just not a fan of her super early stuff except Disco, Aviation and Kill Kill. My favs: 1. Venice Bitch 2. Ride 3. Video Games
  19. God I hope so. I get that Peppers is a bop for some, but it didn't do it for me. In my books, her only real bop on OB is Taco Truck X VB (I was mind blown), but even that has the slow beginning and is quite sad to start (Taco Truck). So, I officially haven't gotten a bop from Lana since 2019 (Doin' Time and Don't Call Me Angel), which was 4 years ago. I'm dying :((((
  20. Well, her every record mentions drugs, that's not the point. The production of Florida Kilos is most similar to BTD, and really had nothing to do with UV's production. Also, the vocals are more Britney Spears, hence BTD vibes
  21. Well, don't you worry because I'm sure we have another 57 piano ballads coming right up
  22. Lmao me too! Like I would suck any dick in the world to make this happen. Fyi I know Don't Call Me Angel isn't a good song, was only referring to its tempo and bit. Also, Lana's part is kinda dope Lol. Sure, I'd be happy with just an unreleased album with Serial Killer, Ridin' and Hollywood as the first three tracks, too, and then Driving in Cars with Boys and other bops to follow!
  23. nfr is all about cali, so for me, having a song called cali on it is almost imperative. I'm glad she saved it for that album. in fact, it's one of the highlight. a sad masterpice
  24. I mean, no one in the world except the football fans has ever played this song more than once, I'm sure.
  25. agree with a lot of these points. Lolita is a mess and serial killer, driving in cars with boys or ridin' shoulda taken its place. Even backfire Your Girl being on UV is my second fav point to come out of this thread. It would have fit perfectly! It's crazy how she scrapped that and added guns and roses instead And diddo on the Bb tracks. But then, for me, that whole album should have been scrapped
