So, the Say Yes to Heaven YouTube video has more views than Kylie Minogue's absolute banger Padam Padam. 7.6M against Kylie's 7.3M, and they were both released one month ago. SYTH has already beat the views of Blue Banisters video, Summertime Gershwin, Looking for America, Season of the Witch, Love (Official Audio), Music to Watch Boys to (Official Audio), I Can Fly, etc. Soon, it'll beat Ocean Boulevard and become the track with the most views on YouTube in this era! What an unexpected slay for Lana! I wonder how many other unreleased songs would achieve the same results? Thad said, if they follow up with another song right away, it'll look desperate. They should wait until autumn.

no idea who that is. I do like Charlie Xx tho. I reckon Lana could do something upbeat with her ala Doin' Time. A Dua Lipa collab would break the internet. Maybe an 80s style retro dance track? btw the trailer to Sofia Copppla's Pricilla is out. Any chance Lana is on the soundtrack? That would be a career highlight. And with Lana's obvious resemblance to Pricilla and multiple mentions of Elvis in her music and Coppola's flawless music taste, it's likely, right?

I'm just thinking, imagine the success OB would have had if Taylor Swift was one of the features? Like, if Lana and Jack just asked Taylor to do some backing vocals or whatever on one of the tracks. I reckon OB would have become Lana's second biggest album after BTD. Kinda wish it were true. Thoughts? It's like wishing your favorite actor to win an Oscar. It's perfectly healthy. It's the top award in the industry and LDR was nominated several times. It's time she won.

I think they're pretty solid, if they submit her in the Alternative album category. She's got reputable collaborators on the record (Antonoff, John Batiste, Father John Misty etc), she's in her prime streaming wise (top 10 female artists on Spotify), she just had a collab with Taylor Swift putting her back into mainstream, she had two songs on the Billboard 100 (Snow, Heaven), the album is doing okay streaming wise, and most importantly - the album is her best reviewed since NFR (which they screwed her over with and they know it). I'm just worried Ben/Interscope is gonna drop the ball again and submit it in the pop category, which would be a massive mistake. There's not a single pop song on the record. Not one.

Ideal track list for LDR Unplugged ala Nirvana?

Yeah, why not! That's more acoustic. Seems like we need an editor to whittle this long-ass list down. -

Very good shout as well. God there are so many. It's not easy to narrow it down. Nirvana had 15 tracks on the playlist only. -

I agree. Yayo would be a fine addition. Plus, we need another song off Paradise. Loveee French Restaurant, hope she releases it one day. OMG! Yes, a new cover would be brilliant. At work now, but will listen to this track later. -
Hey guys, Since we know LDR is a big Nirvana fan, do you think she'll ever do a televised unplugged concert ala Nirvana's iconic MTV unplugged? I reckon this would be legendary especially with so many of her songs being on the intimate and acoustic side. My ideal track list for this would be something like: 1. Ride 2. Young & Beautiful 3. Snow on the Beach feat. Taylor Swift 4. Chemtrails over the Country Club 5. Say Yes to Heaven 6. Let the Light in Feat. Father John Misty 7. Religion 8. When the World was at War, We Just Kept Dancing 9. Lust for Life feat. The Weeknd 10. Bartender 11. Tomorrow Never came Feat. John Lennon 12. White Dress 13. Did You Know that l there's a Tunnel Under Ocean Boulevard 14. Margaret feat. Jack Antonoff 15. Hope is a dangerous thing for a woman like me to have, but I have it 16. How to Disappear 17. Beautiful People, Beautiful Problems feat. Stevie Nicks 18. Paris, Texas 19. Video Games 20. Hollywood Bowl with Rob Grant 21. Not all who Wander are Lost Thoughts? Too many songs? Which ones would you go with?

I hear ya. All valid points. Thanks for sharing. But I think you also missed my point. Which was that it's no accident that Fingertips and Kintsugi have the worst streaming numbers alongside Lana songs like The Trip or Flipside or Beatiful - they're just not that great as songs, and fans seem to agree Let's not mystify things and talk about Bjork and Radiohead and introspection. Lana was alternative from the start, and charts were never Lana's obsession It's just that if they were good songs, people would stream then a lot more, it's that simple. Look at Ocean Boulevard, that's also a slow, introspective ballad. Yet it's the second most streamed on the record. Paris Texas, right up there. Yea, the opinion of the masses doesn't mean much. Who cares and people have awful taste. But still, if I was writing all these songs and my voice note "song" came last in streaming, I most definitely wouldn't rush to do 10 more of those.

Does anybody like every Lana song that she has released???
barttttender replied to MakingOut's topic in Lana Thoughts
I adore Lana and about 100 of her songs. Venice Bitch, Video Games, Ride, Born to Die, West Coast and so many others I've listened to for what feels like an eternity. But some are objectively atrocious. Like that You will never walk alone Liverpool trash track. Hurts the ears. Other songs I think are garbage: Lost at Sea, Summertime - Gerhswin Version, Freak, Fingertips, Coachella, The Other Woman, Don't Let me be Misunderstood, Guns and Roses, Flipside, Change, all of her interludes and most tracks on Blue Banisters. Ah, yeah, Lolita too. Hurts the ears litearlly. A lot of songs on BTD I just never play. But the highs of that album - my god. -
Just make a playlist without the tracks that don't work for you. I've cut out the interludes and the two mega boring song (Kintsugi, Fingertips) and the album is an hour long and flows so much better. Those 4 songs have the lowest streams so I'm not the only one who's done this. Just really unnecessary tracks that should have been scrapped. It's strange ho she releases something like Judas Smith Interlude but songs like Serial Killer, Driving in Cars with Boys or Fine China were never released.

I say good for her. The way Instagram consumes our precious time in life is scary. She shouldn't even need to have a reason nor give a reason. She doesn't owe anyone anything. Lots of celebrities don't have ig and they're fine. I'd rather she go away and write another masterpiece. lana, if you're reading this, thank you for ob, and snow on the beach, and hollywood bowl. This was an era we won't forget.

It's just so morose, and her voice is more grating than it is in Arcadia. It's right there in quality with that You'll Never Walk Alone cover. On the other hand, Hollywood Bowl is a million times better, and should have got the video treatment.
