its believed that shes referencing the russian poet that wrote lolita which is basically the backbone of her old persona

““You can’t be a muse and be happy too You can’t blacken the pages with Russian poetry and be happy” and that scared me” I think this is proof shes leaving her old persona in the past n leading a more authentic n intimate career from now on.

this album is going to be heartbreaking. the more i listen to and understand these three songs the more i hurt for lana n relate to her. a pain literally grows in my chest listening to these songs. ugh

i also got some freudian vibes from these songs.... an uncomfortable topic but definitely interesting.

in TB when lana says “all the things i couldn’t want for him” i believe shes speaking about her dad n it makes me think she couldnt want a happy marriage for him because of her relationship with her mother. any other thoughts on what this line could be about?

dude whyre you so upset? she’s writing from personal and intimate experiences with those she loves. i find it really endearing and sweet. if you hate it so much maybe dont listen to the song??? lmao edit: i know this discussion is over but i dont understand the hate that just went on for like 4 pages over 2 songs of namedropping

to be completely honest... i have to kinda force myself to listen to cocc. its very shallow sonically n probably her worst writing yet. i dont think i’ll ever love it. edit: since lana acknowledged that she doesnt really feel that this album is her best work n that it was written at a standstill... im not mad that i dont like it. its genuinely not her best work n she knows that.

coming from an experience i feel is similar to lanas... i feel like they had a rough relationship when she was young n maybe tried to repair their relationship in her adult life. lana could have realized a lot of repressed n traumatic memories she went through with her mom n decided it would be best to not be involved with her anymore.

lana really takes the ordinary n makes it beautiful. i love the way she describes scenery and just the little moments she experiences. it makes life seem more interesting.

is TB about trying to undo trauma n bad family dynamics by finding someone to have a family with? idk im confused.

but she articulates the contradictory feelings you have towards your parents in situations like the ones she describes perfectly. i relate to these lyrics almost to a T n for my favorite artist to put these feelings in beautiful songs like these brought me to tears.

genuinely wondering if her label cares that she gives 0 promo for most of her work. or even her manager at that. i dont understand her ?

it’s so interesting hearing her new style of vocals meshed with heavier and richer production. i really like it. also her lyrics on chemtrails were really lackluster to me. i knew she could do better. “i learned not to turn into a wildfire to light up your night” sounds so poetic n kinda like an older lana lyric.
