i didn't do anything of the sort. i just gave a few examples of ethel cain songs that i enjoy and provided a few reasons for why i like them (such as discernible intention and meaning). obviously the songs i listed do happen to have more structural integrity and a theme that carries itself through the song than the songs on her most recent record (this is a fact) but in no way was i implying her album is meaningless lol

where did i call the album pointless? let's not misinterpret statements. you've got the right to feel this way, but your way of expressing this doesn't make you look smart, quite the opposite, actually. every artist's music caters to a specific audience whether that's their intention or not.. i'm also not sure that the notion that boring and monotonous extreme drilling noises can be passed off as "challenging"/"less accessible" is really clicking for me as it insinuates that if someone doesn't like it it's because of them and their lack of sophistication/comprehension and not the music itself, and that's just NOT the case with this particular record 99% of singer/songwriter/producers don't make bizarre conceptual music. are they not artists?
