not the BB slander again it might be the visuals (or rather the lack of them) that killed COCC for me or the time it came out that wasn't too good for me but BB is miles better for me and it's impossible to merge these albums together for me my top 5, based mostly on how often i listen to these songs: 1. if you lie down with me 2. text book 3. thunder 4. arcadia 5. violets for roses WW and dealer next! -
Personality Test: Lana Del Rey Song Combination
LetTheLightln replied to PatentLeatherDoOver's topic in Games
Archetype: The Nonconformist Key Songs: 1. Dark But Just A Game 2. Gods & Monsters 3. Black Bathing Suit 4. Money Power Glory 5. High By The Beach In a life bound by rigid expectations, you have maintained your own values and beliefs—sometimes requiring setting firm boundaries with others. You are remarkably true to yourself, and you aren’t afraid to swim against the current. Whereas others may seek to slowly improve broken systems, beliefs, or rules, you might find yourself wishing they could be replaced by something new entirely. You believe in personal integrity outside of the wishes of others, and you have a strong sense of assuredness in your beliefs despite how others might have ridiculed you for them. Song Suggestions: Approximate Sunlight by Bright Eyes, Blue by Joni Mitchell well! love all of these songs, DBJAG being one of my few favorites from COCC 👀- 52 replies

this is exactly the reason i'm a bit afraid of the grants song, esp it being the opener these kinds of songs feel kinda... too personal to listen to them often? of course i have no idea how it might sound and talk about but if it's in the vein of sweet carolina... on the other hand, SC works very well as a closer and i can easily see it being the perfect transition to the grants

first time posting in pre-release! i love the title track sm! i think boz described it pretty accurately- love the orchestra, the strings, even traces of jack's production aren't too distracting to me, this song is about breaking up, fading fame and death at the same time. and the way she DID reference harry nilsson, not even just by the don't forget me part!!! i only got into his music this year and pussy cats, the album don't forget me is on, is def one of my favorites. love when my and lana's tastes unexpectedly meet. DYKTTATUOB sounds like a continuation of BB, esp IYLDWM (the opening piano reminds me of the most), develoing into something more open and emotional and well, new. so excited to finally start a proper new era after the fever dream that COCC was and the mess of BB

literally! i remember listening to honeymoon last year after the three singles came out and remembering the meltdowns when people thought the honeymoon cover was bad, and there we were now with cocc and tb/bb/ww she can drop the most beautiful cover ever created and there will still be people saying it's shit
-
if she covers/samples/references don't forget me i'd die it was literally in my top 20 most played songs this year it really does fit her vibe so well
-
the logo is giving gta font there's a tunnel under ocean boulevard on gta 6 confirmed!
-
FACTS i agree with literally all of these we're not alone
-
idk but we're in for something iconic. DYKTATUOB? amazing.
-
can't tell much from the snippet but i love the tunnel title so much the way boz ranks nfr as the highest though... and for the life of me i cannot understand why yall hate bb so much
-
however much i love UV and HM (considering how different they are from each other btw) and would like some of their elements back, i love the way lana always moves forward and gives us something so very authentic yet new. i'm so ready for new experiments and witchy vibes

The 2022 Year-End Albums Discussion Thread
LetTheLightln replied to Venice Jesus Whore's topic in Music
chloё and the next 20th century was definitely THE album for me. i loved FJM's work but this album is truly my favorite now. absolutely adore the sound and the rich orchestra. and in the darkness hearts aglow - been listening to the title song obsessively for a few days after it came out, and i also have to listen to the rest more. love the writing, the themes and the overall aesthetic. laurel hell - somehow haven't listened to it much besides working for the knife but i loved the kind of new direction of sound mitski took with it, she never stops experimenting. the lyrics though, especially on wftk... painfully relatable as usual -
i'd be skeptical about it if she announced it on instagram, or even in the interview without any other evidence. but with the site blacked out, the insiders buzzing for quite a while now and everything eclipse has been teasing lately... i don't think it's a coinidence

it's been so long since we had a proper, pre-planned release rollout i forgot how good it feels no fake dates, no strange unannounced singles (this is a shade @ lmlylw and even though i love the tb-bb-ww trio, the way she almost ignored them felt so weird) i'm getting ready for a full new complete era with stunning visuals by neil, 16 amazing songs with just a couple produced by j**** a**** but produced greatly like the finest songs on nfr, and the coconut song cover bc i love harry nilsson

woke up from my first ldr9 dream to find we have a new insider so lana released the music video for rockafella, i don't remember the video itself but she posted a bunch of behind the scenes pics on her story and she was wearing an outfit she called llama costume? the set had this country vibe reminiscent of the blue banisters video with clay we never got, and it was big budget. and probably since i'm obsessed with weyes blood's heart aglow atm, rockafella reminded me of it, esp the way lana's voice sounded so powerful honestly though, weyes' writing reminds me of cocc and bb lana a lot, looks like she draws a lot of inspiration from lana. i'd be v glad to hear similar production on ldr9
-
as far as i remember they said something like it's uv + honeymoon but darker? sounds too good to be true tbh
-
this! and tbh i don't even understand how and why it became so popular. nfr is so inferior to all of lana's previous albums?? even lfl. it used to be my least favorite of hers, but not so long ago i realized i like it much much better than nfr and come back to it, however messy and unhinged it is, much more often. maybe jack's tired guitar he sticks into literally all of his songs and the production overall i've grown to dislike so much play a huge role in it yeah i know everyone's tired of jack slander but that's just something i've been thinking about a lot lately. bb finally felt like something more or less fresh after nfr and cocc, even considering all the leaks and outtakes from previous albums. but knowing antonoff's back makes me a lil worried
-
this is not a drill!!! i LOVE fjm's latest album and the actual collab with lana was long due, can't wait!!! her male collabs are always amazing- brooklyn baby, tomorrow never came, dealer, everything w barrie so excited for ldr9 all of a sudden!!
-
this would be a dream 10th does seem a little too early for it and i'm okay with waiting for a later anniversary but then again i doubt i'll live long enough to see it lmao and for lfl anniversary she should release the earlier darker, witchy and more rock-ish version she had for it originally
-
i might be totally wrong but the "solo album" thing made me think there's another full album with collabs in the making. what if the standards and classics was a collab album? or he might be phrasing it that way because her latest release wasn't solo? probably in the end he just randomly decided to say it that way
-
i'll just pretend the snow song doesn't exist at all, i still haven't listened to it anyway ah thank you! too bad though ugh
-
do we know if the studio pics with jack were from ldr9 sessions or could they be from sotb? maybe there's still hope
