Maybe it has been mentioned here, or elsewhere, so I am sorry if I missed this: I generally start obsessing over the AOTY lists around this time each year. I check all my favourite (and not so favourite) music sites. One thing that shocks me this year: WHERE THE FUCK IS BLUE BANISTERS? How could such a beautiful album be so monumentally ignored?

I think the lyrics to Arcadia would make Dylan blush. Fucking magnificent.

So, I have not read this whole thread (who can?), so please forgive me if I missed this: Are there several older recordings on BB? Or are they old songs that got reworked for release? ie Did LDR pull a Tattoo You here? Thanks in advance.

I agree with this. There are some great reviews of BB, but I really expected several 5-star jobs. It's that good, imho. Joni Mitchell must be in tears.

I agree that it is slightly jarring, but in a good way. I wonder if LDR made a dig/joke with this. Arcadia is pretty serious shit, and then this interlude almost sounds like a coda that acts like a punchline.

Wait....what? Actually, it does make me sad to read the first couple of pages of the thread (2013) vice the recent pages. I remember how happy I was during the Yeezus days, and how frustrated I became after that. Mr West does have some issues, no doubt. But I just had to give up trying to keep up. Still, I'm interested in reactions to the latest edition of Donda......you know, from those who stream things.

So, um, now there is a 130min deluxe edition? I loved this crazy guy around the time of Fantasy and Yeezus. Then the tinkering/changes on Pablo drove me fucking insane, and I still have not heard it, or anything after. Do we really know if he is finished fucking with Donda yet? Some may respond that "art is an ever-changing thing, not stagnant, etc etc" but I want my albums and films to be released, then not fucked with after the release. Anyway - sorry for the rant. Any opinions on the "new" Donda?

I can't help thinking that in 10+ years from now, BB will be hailed as a masterpiece that many didn't think so at the time of release. There's been many retrospective assessments such as this. Stones - Exile comes to mind. I don't think it got superb reviews all round when it first came out. (I was there!) Maybe REM - HiFi also falls into this category. And Tears For Fears - Sowing The Seeds? (It's fucking great, ok?)

But that would fuck up the mood that the album creates. I find that The Interlude at track 4 and Dealer at track 9 raise the "energy" level quite brilliantly, without spoiling anything. (And Dudes, the Interlude (Good, Bad and Ugly) immediately follows a song about America. Get it?)

Is there a thread which details the fuck-count for every album? This is very important to me.

I cannot put this motherfucker down. (I'm an old fashioned CD kind of guy!) It's my AOTY, and I am convinced that it is LDR's greatest achievement (so far). (BB even caused me to finally join this forum. Too many of y'all were meh about this magnificent album. I needed to counterbalance that.)
