That's more or less my take on it as well. Cheap raunch isn't really the thing I personally would prefer to see Kim trying to tack on into her career and legacy. She's proven with a lot of earlier work that she's got talent and vocal chops; I think going "slut" with it could be done really well, with the right effort and planning, but there's a line where it starts to feel more like SNL sketch songs... Idk, for me it just feels like a step backwards in many areas, and poor representation of her and her talents.

Announcing an album coming in 5-6 weeks? Sure. Announcing a new album even 2-3 months away? Cool. But announcing a single? Girl the shit needs to drop within 1-2 weeks MAX. It's been announced. It's been teased with visuals. A snippet has been "leaked" alongside the visuals. The song should come swiftly after. It's like when you go out to eat and you order an appetizer and dinner. Your appetizer comes out fast...but dinner takes forever to come out. Well, now you've eaten all of the appetizer and had two drink refills and have been sitting for so long that by the time dinner comes, you're not really hungry anymore. Ya know?

No I do get it - XCX World and everything around it is a masterpiece - it REALLY is in a class of it's own - but it's been how many years? bOuNcE fInAl wHeN??? Which is why I'm all about owning physicals and buying the music versus streaming if I can help it. I don't want to be a metric in a dataset that labels and marketing are then using to push artists in certain directions for commercial viability. I want art, as unfettered by capitalism, as much as possible. Good, bad, ugly, or just straight up horrendous - IDC. I want music and art without the corporate and capitalistic "safety rails" that means-tested and data-driven analysis has brought to the industry.

Anything is possible without direct evidence and a chain of custody on the files. For all we know "someone" could have intentionally placed it in a location for a "leaker" to pick up. 🤷

It's already popping up. I hate it. I think it's really neat when you find out that some popular song was actually pitched to other folks and their demos leak and you get to see their take on the track. Same Old Love is a great example of that imo - Selena, Rhianna, Charli - features with Iggy - I think it's neat to see what could have been and how. But with AI; there's no fun in it. Now any artist can be anywhere in any song as long as the model is trained on enough vocal samples. I can see positive applications of it where maybe people can use it to restore lost/damaged media or finish material that's incomplete (I actually have a use case for that myself), but I worry that the industry as a whole might just embrace and monetize AI in such an awful way. I can see it - a musical vending machine - just go up and pick a song and pick an artist and "Stand back and enjoy; track generating...." and now suddenly we've got the Beatles singing WAP and Justin Bieber singing old 1700's plantation spirituals. I see just a profane and warped future with it.
