Lana’s feminism manifests itself in atypical ways. In her work you have to read between the lines. I’m what you would consider a “typical feminist” but Lana definitely is. A feminist is literally just a person who supports women getting the same rights as men. Speaking up about domestic abuse (Ultraviolence) is a bold choice and many could argue it’s romanticized but I doubt that was Lana’s intention. She makes music for her and gives no fucks about how others perceive it. A woman not seeking validation from the media and doing whatever she wants is feminism if you ask me. It’s just not “typical” feminism.

Seriously !! Compared to other artists, Lana produces content at such a rapid rate and I really admire her for that. To all my fellow Melanie fans, we had a drought 2020-Feb 2023. The fact that Lana produces an album nearly every year is incredible !

The factors you consider are the same as mine. I would say for Lana’s top 5 tracks from a collective and critical point of view are (in no order) A&W, DYKTATUOB, Venice Bitch, West Coast, and Hope is a dangerous thing. Tracks that could be switched out in the top 5 being White Dress, Heroin, and Black Bathing Suit. Idk if this made sense LMAO People sleep on BB. For a few months that was my favorite song

Literally !! I feel so bad excluding tracks because they are all so amazing in different ways. I usually turn to personal favorites and weigh in a more critical perspective when creating my rankings. A&W is definitely one of her best works (along with the title track).

A&W makes it into my top 5 songs from Lana’s entire discography and Venice Bitch makes it into my top 10. Maybe if I’m vibing extra hard, it’ll make my top 5. Both are masterpieces and I’m excited for these long, career defining tracks to continue
