It is a stand alone EP with no connection to the PD lore. However, her EPs are her way of experimenting with sounds and ideas before putting them in a full record, so the sound of this album will probably be reflected in future work.

Lana has been stuck in this weird place since NFR. She hasn’t necessarily made bad music, all of it has been at least good other than Blue Banisters. It just seems like she has been spinning her wheels and waiting for something. She really hasn’t grown or shown much evolution since NFR and I think it is because her and Jack have really done everything they can together but they aren’t ready to part. It is also confusing because Jack talked about how they have been heading down a “strange” and wild path yet she is releasing another country/folk inspired project. It is so bizzare and I really hope she decides to switch it up soon because I feel like so much of her artistry is getting lost in translation
