It's not my favorite, but the justifiable one would be BTD. It has the most iconic unreleased songs that, at one time or another, catch the attention of new fans. Relaunching it would be a strategy to reach even more new fans and the commercial success would be resounding. However, what else would I like is a super deluxe album that goes through all the eras, bringing more news from each, extensions of some songs, etc. Something like "the best of" or "the eras", but without sounding as cheesy as it seems.

The Right Person Will Stay - Pre-Release Thread (OUT: May 21st, 2025)

I'm glad someone considered this. Chemtrails is simple, short, but it works and is very round. I find it very interesting. It has this COVID-era seclusion feel, like if you were taking refuge on a ranch, you put it on at night and listen to it while you watch a fireplace crackle. Lana had been flirting with country for a while now, but she didn't feel ready to embrace the genre once and for all and sound like a caricature. So, I like Chemtrails, because, even though it is predominantly folk, it has this nod to the country in a safe way, without forcing it to make Lana have an identity that is not hers. So I was excited about Lasso because it felt like an extension of Chemtrails. Now, I don't know what he's really going to be. I only know one thing: saying that it will be bad because it resembles Chemtrails is untrue. -
Lana songs with poor mastering/engineering?
terrenceszyou replied to White Hot 4Ever's topic in Lana Thoughts
Of all of them, the one that catches my attention the most is Arcadia and You'll Never Walk Alone. They're songs that are too good for the little attention given to their mixing. Lana likes them, and I know that she wants some of her high notes in certain tracks to be really shrill. In most of them, it works, like, for example, in the final verse of the bridge of Kintsugi. However, in Arcadia and You'll Never Walk Alone, it seems like a mistake to me. I hate tracks that I have to listen to and adjust the volume because some parts are louder than others. I understand when elements appear in a song and it becomes more full-bodied, and it's okay to have a small difference in volume for the musical experience, but in these, in particular, the difference is too big and makes me think that they would be two extremely great songs if they had taken care to avoid that. Imagine Young and Beautiful with only the loud chorus and the initial verses extremely whispered and with minimal instrumental. Tiresome to listen to. Annoying. I will always understand Lana's creative choices. Some of her songs are not meant to be listened to recreationally; some are simply there to be part of your listening experience on the album. Fingertips, for example, is one of her best creations; but it is by no means a song you would listen to while washing the dishes. And it is only powerful because it was conceived the way it was. A spontaneous audio and a random piano underneath. I like that. But I don't forgive these two songs. They seem like poorly utilized proposals. She could have made a great soundtrack if she had conceived a good production for You'll Never Walk Alone. And it would have been a classic track if she had done the same with Arcadia. In fact, the lack of success of both tracks is, unconsciously for the fans, due to this. -

we need cute abbreviations for this album How about "Right Person?" "Oh, my favorite albums are BB, Ocean Blvd and Right Person" -
The fact that there is already a certain collective hopelessness for the release of Lasso is what makes me believe more that it really came.

Lana, Charlie, and Valerie in New York City - July 10th, 2024

I don't like that blonde. The hair looks fragile and is only beautiful when it is done by Anna. Not day to day, it looks dry. When she has dark hair, even without styling it, her hair looked healthier. I hope she urgently returns to darker tones. -
How long does Lasso need to be released before it can be nominated for a Grammy? Not that I have high expectations, but I like it when she goes and wears nice dresses. And a year needs to start like this, a bit traumatic.

Agree. I really like them talking. Lana's voice is so cute and natural. I like the Outro so much that I think that for the music to be better, the Outro should be longer, with more instruments and ambience. In fact, I think the whole song should be longer. With a few extras here and there for ambience, the song could be 5 minutes long, just like Lana's traditional song. But, I understand being short so that it has its replay factor and is more commercial. It's actually not a 2 minute song, so it's not short. But Lana's songs tend to be long and give such a complete experience that this one gives me that "I want more" feeling. Taking advantage of the comment hook, these are my thoughts on... Track: It's a great song. Just because it's more danceable and pop doesn't mean it's integrated music and shouldn't be taken seriously. In fact, here's what makes Lana genius: mixing seemingly different genres smoothly and making it immediately sound modern and, at the same time, timeless, even if we don't know what its longevity will be like. Yes, it's on Quavo's channel, the font of his name is bigger, whatever, but this is definitely a Lana song. The two collaborated together, he's the rapper, but we should appreciate how he let Lana insert her own style here and not just be a prop for the track. Even in Lana's tracks with other rappers there isn't as much Lana as here (and I don't mean in the sense of the duration of seconds of her singing, but in the construction of the track and sound). This is a very positive point. The MV: Not so good. I mean, it has cute visuals. But, just because it is recorded/edited with Super8 does not mean that the images must be so shaky and, due to their editing, appear to have no planned creative direction. It looks like they went to the field and improvised some takes as they came to mind - which also gives a fun result. But, come on, everyone, deep down, was expecting a super production, or some light storytelling. The recording yielded beautiful images. Lana was at ease and she has a lot of chemistry with Quavo. I blame the video editor who made terrible cuts, very abrupt and little thought out. I don't know, but I think it was a crime that the American Queen flag wasn't displayed in slow motion during the bridge. I know it's not a super production, but good editing counts for a lot. Next time, see images of Lana and a laptop. She will know what to do. -

I wish that. I hate it when Lana launches something more commercial and the fanbase says "numbers aren't important to her, Lana's commitment is to art". Screw it. Lana has already proven herself as an artist. But not every release of hers needs to be off the charts to be canonized as “real, non-disposable art.” Sometimes I feel like fans want their material to be discreet and fail on purpose so they can feel like their music is something they only like and that not everyone can appreciate. Like, wake up, she's one of the 10 most listened to singers globally. What's wrong with wanting her to go viral on TikTok and among us charts or have a hit as apotheotic as her debut singles? She deserves it. In a nutshell, it would be fun. I think it would only bring something positive: it would attract possible new fans, it would make her more enthusiastic about Lasso, and maybe even the song would be responsible for giving a kick to any other song on the tour's setlist. -

I watch the MV. In this way, I am shocked by the music and the images at the same time. You are surprised. Although from the performance we already know how the song will sound in its entirety, but I would still like to be surprised by some small details that are probably contained in the song in the studio version. Like, can there really be an acoustic intro before the hip-hop? But what's most exciting me here is that pre-chorus where the beats drop and Lana starts singing in her own style. I feel like there will be something great to match this part. -

Am sorry. I watched the show on my cell phone on Rob's live stream. I'm in my early 20s, but I'm tired enough that minutes before the show starts and I see photos of the storm I only think "those seats are going to be all wet and impossible to sit in". I respect Lana, but I need a few minutes to rest too. Furthermore, forget these little details and the circles you made on the way out, not only because you thought it could be worse, but because you thought you actually witnessed something incredible - an anniversary show and not canceled even after a chaotic moment. -

I really wish it were like that. Since Ultraviolence, every album ending situates the sound or theme of the next one. Ultraviolence ends with jazz, which links well to Honeymoon. Honeymoon ends with a message asking for understanding and links with Lust for Life, the most politicized album. Lust for Life ends by evoking the sea and blue, which links Norman, who, in turn, ends with a more personal song that sets the tone for the next, more diaristic albums. I think it's incredible that Blue Banisters is about family relationships, ends with Sweet Carolina and then OceanBlvd opens with The Grants. But why am I saying that? Because Lana is one of the most versatile artists I've ever met, but, in addition to her own style, there are these changes in the way she makes her music with very smooth transitions. Everything she does relates to her previous work, which makes me think that: even though OceanBlvd is more recognized as a personal and intimate album, something that really stands out for me is that it is very experimental. She brought new things: she has fingertips being recorded in a single take with improvisations, she has a mashup/remix of her own song with another new one. That's what I value about the album. And, just like the closure of OceanBlvd, with all that mix, I believe that this is what we will have at Lasso. Country, but a lot of experimentation, and we are already seeing in these two teased songs that I strongly believe they are for the album. I'm very excited. -
