100%, Lana was not very popular during that time with all the controversies she was getting herself in to.. but chemtrails is a beautifully executed record.. and it ranks so highly for me, but I prefer to listen to records front to back as opposed to having favourite tracks I pick out which is why my two favourite songs come from bb and lfl, but those records rank lower for me.. as there are some songs on those records which are indefinite skips.. (I’m talking to you VFR and LFL.. sorry)

I definitely don’t discount his work as a producer- NFR is my favourite record of hers.. and actually COCC ranks highly after that, but her albums prior are top rank albums! I wish she could’ve celebrated him without discounting herself- and it read like she genuinely felt that, her music wasn’t worthy until having him around. BTD literally has broken records, she can’t think that Jack is what made her

Her speech makes me sad.. I know it’s meant to be about Jack and celebrating him.. but it reads like “I was nothing until you started working with me” and kinda makes it sound like she believes her work wasn’t good prior to meeting him and nobody liked or cared for her You made masterpiece albums before him! And she kinda dismisses that her songs are based off many other things than production…

9/9.30?? Is that the norm at stadium shows? It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a stadium show but that seeems sooo late before she even comes on haha

all I can think is that she was trying to make the album in to something it’s not by trying to cram on some mediocre “country” songs, so that it would be in line with lasso being a big country record she probably had 13 songs she really loved biut they didn’t really identify as country (more southern gothic leaning).. so has decided to just scrap the country record for now (or potentially indefinitely) to get the songs out she loves. And let’s be honest, she does love a hip hop/ trap beat.. that can fit in with southern gothic much easier than country

I love an interlude, but with the record only having 13 songs I don’t want to feel short changed on songs features are always my least favourite, there’s not one song Lana has done with a feature where the solo version wasn’t better (from the demos we have)

We can’t just write Henry off as a slow boring song just yet.. it could literally be the bridge we’ve heard.. or the whole tempo could change.. I mean A&W was a song of two parts entirely

Do we think we’ll get something more prog rock this time.. i think the Jon batiste interlude was a lil taster and now she’s married to a full on dad.. and she’s very influenced by her current partners id personally loooooove it, my 2 favourite things collide
