its in Lana's beautiful voice, all of it. She could record on a 1920's microphone in a tin room, and capture the mood right, with some songs. Listened to MTWBT a few more times, and starting to feel the greatness of it. took a few listens for me, i need to really 'feel' a song, before i'll open my big fat mouth, but she sounds fucking beautiful as always to me.. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THE ALBUM IN ITS ENTIRETY. is it still the 18th? if so,.. 8 more days you little bitches.

too many leaks for songs.. takes away from the excitement when listening to the full album for the first time for me.. then again, nice to get some kinda idea on what they may sound like too.. no offense to anyone, but has all the posters the last 20 pages or so here, recently changed or wtf? thread seems to have changed alot..

hi lolitae, nice to see this thread revived after 2 years, lol.. but yes great posts above from valentino and a few others as well.. interesting read. i agree, dont like mylies version as the original. different sort of feel,.there are so many other great female voices i have found in the past year or 2, that could sing ss great. in fact, a few of them had me thinking it was a lana song recently..but just similar voice/emotive/tone/feel, etc.. i heard a clip of kelly clarkson doing off to the races recently, which was kinda strange to see..

its ok you are entitled to your opinion and all, but i disagree. i think she most definately is groundbreaking, specifically in the indie/pop realm. Shes has that something special (in her voice as well as her songwriting and style.) This is only her first ever album out released a week ago, and she is only 20 years old. we'll see what the GP view her like as well as her very fast growing fanbase, and where she is a year from now. (which is a long time in the music business.)

watch her grow in the next few months.. its gonna be the ride up.. the rocket ride. mark my words. HALSEY artist to watch..

I totally love the new album Badlands by Halsey. She is amazing and unique. She is going to get huge, in a way alot of Lana fans wanted (want) for Lana to do. I love Lana, so no diss to her, but Halsey right now for an Indie artist is making huge waves in the music industry. My least fav song of hers on Badlands (new americana) is number 2 only to the weekend right now. She will be opening for the weekend here soon for upcoming large venue tour, and her headline shows sold out in minutes. (shows around the US). This her debut album, and her following is growing like wildfire. I can see why too, I saw/felt it in her, when i first found her with Hurricane only a few months ago, and knew right then she was something special. Should be a super interesting time for her. Elle magazine along with a half dozen others have run some pretty cool articles on her, if you guys want to read them.. I didn't know as much about her past and influences until reading that elle mag interview online.. was somewhat blown away.. ok, back to "Drive" on replay..

i really like him in movies, i think he is a cool character in alot of them..last one was him in 'wild horses', good movie..
