please... for the love of god... stop. the large majority of the GP have not heard a single track from Ultraviolence + are probably unaware of its existence. it will not even remotely be up for consideration as one of the greatest albums of all times. to you, yes it might be, but the GP will most certainly disagree. Lana's music is great but its nowhere near as iconic as you constantly make it out to be. she is not the next Elvis, she is not the next Marilyn, she is not a classic American icon who will be remembered in 50 years time. that's the sad truth. have to agree with you on this one, but there will always be deranged disillusional 'fans' for people..kinda creepy, as they are often the people whom do crazy shit, once the illusion is burst and reality sets in..scary..

Some people in here actually believe Lana has influenced every other artist out there who is successful or has changed style to become more successful? LOL.. what a foolish thought..cant believe im actually posting on this.. I love Lana's music/style/sound too but not blindly coloring up a fantasy.. there have actually been artists out there doing what Lana does now,- decades ago, even more recent. she didn't invent her style of music. in interviews, shes even said- she "copies artists styles she wants to emulate" big deal! everyone does that. its called influences (when you are a musician). what I love about her, is her vocals. many others do very similar songs. its got nothing to do with her sadcore. many have/were doing sadcore. its nothing new. ok rant over.

I have no clue who Grimes is, but, (and I'd be 99% sure someone like Lana would not do this), but there are headline artists out there that will have their front house engineer oversee and make sure the sound out front is 'crappy' for opener acts for the main act to look better.. it happens, and maybe that happened with Grimes? anyway, i've never heard of her, so no idea what she is like as a singer.. -and Lana is a pretty honest person IMO, i highly doubt thats the case here.

I was interested to check it out, as I've heard one song from it on a late night talk show recently, and yes, its a good album. She sounds really good. They have some cool horns and strings too.. still need to go thru the rest, but gonna download some for sure..like some songs a lot. Quite different from Lana's style IMO, but some similariies too.. If HM sounds more like Florence new one, that would be quite a different sound from Lana, and i'd be pretty surprised.. Flo reminds me of Stevie Nicks and someone else,,not sure.. but anyway back to the thread..I cant wait to hear HM.

wow, I guess that's the way it goes than.. I've never heard of a show being postponed for a year. Perhaps it line up with next years HM tour plans.. or something..? wow..

Wishful thinking for fans i think- on her "being far more active this HM era." I don't see Lana getting far more active anytime soon, as that would be a 180 on her personality. Like she said in an interview about the label(s), "thats your ambitions not mine".. its hard to change like that, but who knows? we'll see i guess.. time will tell.. i understand the business of it too though, but i dont see her doing anything, she 100% doesnt want to do.. which is cool for me..she doesn't have to sell 10Billion for Interscope..

totally missing the 4 violinists, they add a huge intensity to any perfomer,,but still a great show..

wow. long but interesting read. its probably more common than people think. the things people will do for fame and fortune.. still, many are honest and straight shooters. its probably 50/50. take your side..i think the problem for many, is the need to 'color' things up, to make things more exciting. who would watch a show with no 'drama'..

Dudes and Dudettes, LOL, LOL.. No one cares what you or I say, or think about Lana and what she should do, or whom she is compared to. Your 'reality' and view on anything, is just that.. its your view.. which than becomes 'your' reality. Lana could care less, what anyone here thinks. Lets get real a little bit even? At the very end of the day, if you like her music or some songs, JUST ENJOY THAT! I dont try to 'force' anyone to accept my beliefs. To each their own.

Best - Brooklyn baby and Flipside. (2 of my favorite songs ever.) as far as the rest- Cruel World and Ultraviolence i like alot- but live versions from last year. the rest of UV is not to my liking..

LOL, nice to think positive.. but Lana is not an iconic star from the 50's or 60's..or anytime.. Many Many people could care less about UV. LOL.. people sure like to color things up alot.. having mentioned all this, i like some of the songs from UV as much as some from BTD and are in my all time favorite songs ever.

The crowds are probably bigger now than some of the shows last year. (excluding festivals where other bigger artists are performing at the same show). In watching every clip i can find, for each of the endless summer shows so far, the crowds seem not as frantic and wild as they previous year. I think that might be due to the fact its a larger crowd than before, and the core fans from before whom were truly madly crazy in love with Lana del rey, (like someone mentioned here awhile back), makes up a smaller portion of the crowd..you may have a number of people at these shows, that are not as die hard fans, as before.. so a more 'calm' crowd it seems to me.. i still here lots of screaming from the diehards in the front rows though.. I've seen that happen to plenty of bands as they got bigger over the years..its kinda weird the way 'getting bigger' works for some more intimate artists. I agree with Lana (if she actually think this way)- the smaller more intimate venues, suits her style better than a large or huge festival stage.Lots of people i know just go to every big show they can, even if they don't know most of the artists songs..LOL..just for the big crowd scene. Doesnt, really matter to me, its not a popularity contest, could care less how many people go to the show and say good or bad things about it. I think she sounds great.

Paradise era is awesome to me. I love alot of that material. Nothing like timeless great music. I also love the sounds of Brooklyn baby. A sound like that on a new album, would be killer vibe for me. This sounds absolutley amazing on a really good home stereo equipment. my neighbors probably though there was a Lana concert going on nearby.. (actually they have no clue who Lana is..)

In reponse to some of these posts up above. Sorry, people, but Katherine Hudson f******** rocks a stage with incredible energy and presence. You need to watch Katy Perry- Part of me. it is a couple years old now, it is a 2 hour+ documentary type film on her rise to conquering this earth. Plain and simple. She is awesome. Seriously an excellent video and totally down to earth no bullshit. Everyone should experience watching that, you will get a better understanding of miss Hudson, and love her too..like we love Lana. if people only like one artist and say stupid things about others, it really shows a lack of maturity, but again common sense is not very common. You CAN like (love), a few different styles and artists, even many! Wow!! what a world hey?

Chula vista, California show just wrapped a little while ago.. anyone there? anything new to post? Experiences? thoughts? anything?.. I saw some clips, and she sounded good to me..although a few recordings made it sound on one song, like it was being rushed a little.. which would surprise me, as i feel Lana really lets her vocals 'simmer' and doesn't rush songs normally.. brooklyn baby is such a great song from her, and sounded amazing..as did Blue Jeans..

wow, maybe some of this explains the lack of any pro footage from these first few concerts..not much hype, except from a few fans posting clips.. Hmmmm, going to be an interesting year for Lanz..or i should say, for fans..
