We should have high expectations because we know how strong her song writing can be, but yet somehow her own team’s shitty security ends up getting these songs leaked and instead of just releasing the good music that got leaked, we get this Albatrosz sounding track (or she’s just so stuck in these themed albums, and doesn’t want to release some amazing tracks because they don’t fit this four eyed cat aesthetic )

I feel like a big hypocrite for judging based on this snippet, as I always try to advocate for listening to the songs in full, but it’s very very bad. I have some faith that she wouldn’t tease songs we already heard IF they made the album. So maybe this is a filler track before TV

Agreed, I thought it sounded very dated too. I am concerned that these lyrics are really doubling down on the whole theme she is going for, similar to the K-12 commitment to a theme over everything else. Pray for TV and N&T, I fear their lyrics are too relatable for this record

I gotta say I appreciate her pricing. $25 for a gatefold vinyl with a nice pressing (her attention to detail is always very good with the packaging too). The box set for $55 is a great deal, compared to what some artists are charging, especially with a signed art card.

Curious why Aha Music doesn’t recognize the new snippet? Why does it recognize Lana songs from the new album but not these? Tried it on Sirens too and it was also just giving me random search results for both.

Anything that doesn’t have Void as track 2 is obviously fake at this point. I was kinda hopeful of the one that was posted with producer credits but Void wasn’t even on it and Sirens was track 2.

Now where is Needle and Thread Love the concept though.

At this point I’m going to assume Void was reworked heavily, Sirens was reworked lyrically (could have a different name), and Tunnel Vision exists in somewhat of a similar format, who knows what the lyrics are. Maybe that’s the one she kept as/is (fingers crossed). Losing hope for Needle and Thread, as I’m thinking it may not fit with the vibe of the album, which is a shame because it’s one of the best.

I dunno how y’all can rank an album you’ve heard at most 5 of 16 songs in full. I have (extremely) high hopes for this album but I can’t rank something until I’ve heard it through multiple times and had time to “live” with it for awhile.

Morgan Wallen is relatively un-canceled by country music fans, though of course their threshold for such things is a little lower. I’m a country fan and and I used to listen to him before the incident. I don’t think you can take it as him actually feeling like he messed up, but he did apologize multiple times and made a donation to the Black Music Action Coalition. So is he a still a racist pile of crap, most likely. But he was added back all streaming platforms, etc. He’s not actively out there spewing nonsense anymore, and he has a big fan base, that doesn’t necessarily intersect with Lana’s. But anyway my point is I just don’t see this being too big of a deal for Lana.
