The discourse over this song is crazy tbh. Its a vapid club pop song for twinks but youd think the next chapter of the bible just dropped the way its being analyzed online. If you didnt like the video why obsess over it? like just be done with it, move on. Put your energy into other artists who have the same sensibilities you do instead of trying to force everyone to cater to you. Its honestly hilarious seeing people acting shocked that Troy fucking Sivan of all people had a bunch of twinks in a music video about sex drugs and clubbing instead of using the video to be some bastion of sociopolitical ideology. Like honestly if you arent discussing the song or album rollout why even post in this thread it really doesnt seem to be the place for that type of discussion.

I'm here for Troy Sivan to stop taking himself seriously and just start doing trash electronic-adjacent club songs, but like I mean that in a good way.

Slayyyter when I been talking shit about the visuals for the last 10 pages of this thread and then gag instantly at the first frame of the Miss Belladonna visualizer snippet
-
There is a screenshot of an instagram dm from the producer working on her new song saying along the lines of “the label is mad we went against their NDA for posting the pic together and snippet”
-
kind of agree like the visuals can only go so far with this aesthetic and its already looking samey but the music is the most precise shes done. i know the album is going to be incredible already and thats whats the most important to me.

The final version is going to be such an explosive track I'm so fucking ready!!!!!

New announcement / possible single drop tomorrow. https://twitter.com/slayyyter/status/1678573169152757760?s=20

yeah it also removed a few of Slayyyter's other songs at the time but they were all restored, except this one? Which never made any sense to me. I would hope that if she does come back to releasing music she puts her previous work back up in official capacity.

You cannot be serious... to actually think.... Lana.... and Ayesha Erotica..... would collab...... just because.... she reactivated her instagram the same day Ayesha was seen at her collaborator's concert....
-
Ayesha Erotica confirmed (vaguely) to be signed to a record label and making a comeback. (wow) I wonder what this will mean for her and Slayyyter going forward. I would be very interested to see how Slayyyter approaches this, as I've seen in person her dodge questions regarding Ayesha in the past. But everyone will be bringing her up if Ayesha is coming back into a public spotlight. Like will she acknowledge Ayesha's comeback publicly online or just try to ignore it? And would they even work together again at this point? I know many people are wishing she would go back to working with her and miss that old sound but Slayyyter seems to want to go in a different direction with her career and music, but there is no telling what S4 could be...

Wowwww it sounds so much larger than the demo I'm SO READY!!!!

That was people rushing to conclusions. FADER label wiki page:

The pre-save link is now for the "next single" but the link currently is an error message, likely because its not ready to be revealed yet. My guess is Belladonna, because the image was changed from the Out of Time cover, to a picture of a flower. It isn't a belladonna flower, but I don't think they would use that image to hint at something like My Body or Hollywood or Purr. Or maybe I'm just looking too much into a placeholder image. If it is true that it will come out "depending on the streams of Out of Time" I think its likely they are waiting for Out of Time to hit 1 million on Spotify.
-
I unironically think the sample is the worst part of the song and absolutely ruins it for me. Its like "cute" for the movie which.... I know is the point. But I'm not streaming this more than like 3 times probably.

I think its very odd that she would comment about Kim publicly like this without listening to the album and just going off of pitchfork... especially after Charli herself spent weeks upon weeks fuming on twitter over critics reviews of Crash, being negative constantly, trying to discredit them, lashed out at fans, wearing tshirts about it to events, and only stopped once it released and it was successful for her... and comments about Kim chasing mainstream success after just putting out her most mainstream pop album to date followed by back to back to back to back (literally) movie soundtrack confirmations, including Barbie. Like I know being a ~brat~ "evil popstar" or whatever.... is her "thing" right now and shes using that account to stir up talk but 'its getting weird'. Its true though 911 remix is THAT song that requires no notes.
-
Yeah I've went in on Kim several times harshly but its like, because I want Kim to be the best that she can be, and as a fan who has watched all this go down its nothing but frustrating to see how we got here in the end. I can only speak for myself though.

The rap on Body Count is so good likeee Titties so big like an anime Heard your boy say he was a fan of me Like she did that. Too bad that weirdo male vocal chorus sucks. I really can't believe six tracks leaked but also I can't exactly say I would want any of these to be on a tracklist but Psycho Lover, and Happy Forever is cute.
-
Speed Drive is cute but its not what I expected from the title. Also I'm getting irritated at the tracks on the Barbie album being under two minutes??? Like you guys cant even hit 2:01???
-
Yeah I have had the chance now to listen to the album all the way through multiple times and I do think that all of the songs are decent and theres no standout "awful" track or skip besides like, unholy if that even counts. I don't think its a cohesive, or well made album necessarily though. And I do actually agree with the pitchfork review, but I do think like a 5/10 would be a better score. Theres nothing on here that is groundbreaking, nothing about any of the tracks says "artistry". but there are songs that are fun to listen to. Its just so overtly safe. Claws though is a standout track in her discography in my opinion.
-
Uh oh doesnt even sound finished. Its so frustrating to listen to. Such a letdown for what could have been the best track on the album. And Thousand Pieces and Sex Talk sounds like “old Kim” but Sex Talks chorus is so lacking in any kind of emotion its so boring, the line delivery just sucks. Claws and King of Hearts are great but especially Claws.
-
this is actually funny considering she mentioned her "next song" in a tiktok the same day you posted this.
-
Definitely I thought it was fun, I liked the beat.
-
I didn't say the roll out was smooth. I said this album has a better chance at mainstream success than Problematique and Candy. Which is undeniably true. Doesn't matter how messed up the stans think the tracklist is, or how good Kim's old songs are. I've listened to every leaked track of Problematique and what we have of Candy and her other leaks. Those tracks aren't hitmakers babes. If Kim has any chance for mainstream solo success up to this point so far, its coming from the new singles on this album. Yeah, the album is giving "corporate soulless sellout", not consistency. But Kim, you get what you wish for!

Someone mentioned a few pages ago it sampling that song. She actually tweeted a while ago about her liking the recent trend of sampling. In my opinion its getting really, really tired at this point. Almost every song that comes out anymore right now is sampled off a more popular song. Alone ft. Nicki Minaj for me was the breaking point tbh but I'm Good (Blue) was the song that really made me hate the trend at first. But I didn't even know this song was originally sampled, and this song has always had that "familiar 80s sound", to me, it just sounded "somewhat like Thriller, but new". So it doesn't take me out of it. But... this isn't new for Slayyyter though. Theres been a few songs, like Sweet 16 that went unreleased because it sampled Its My Party and couldnt get the sample to clear. And then of course her remix of Gimme More. And then her Heidi Montag collab that apparently didnt release because it sampled Britney. (why would you even bother trying that a second time? why waste Heidi's time and get our hopes up?!) They should have done a "Heidi's Version" of I'll Do It ft. Slayyyter like Paris and Kim did and absolutely clear them.

Yeah, the new album songs are amazing. This is above, beyond, in entirely different leagueS higher than Problematique. I hope once this album releases, Kim stans will finally shut UP!!! about her being "screwed over" by her label. Saying that they're "stopping her from releasing music" Actually, it turns out, that sometimes the record label, whose sole purpose of existence, is to create the most profitable and marketable music from that artist as possible, and spends millions to make it happen, has some experience and knowledge in directing a pop artist to succeed. Who would have thought????! Like be real if Problematique or Candy released it would not do as well as this album could. I am so glad they blocked her from releasing an album until now because these songs are some of her very very best, no comparison. The only unfortunate thing is the tracklist including some unnecessary singles and how horrible brr / unholy is as the closer.
