Reviving this thread because Marika just announced her new album "Big Sigh" coming out on January 12th, two singles have been released so far. I really like both singles and am excited for the new album and the tour. Anyone else here a fan of her music? Some of my favourites from her older albums are "Ophelia" and "Deep Green".

I've never understood either the Mitski or boygenius hype - do you guys really think they would have that much better of a chance than Lana?

Yeah the whole "phenomenon" of Taylor Swift is fucking absurd! I keep pretty up to date on her not because I love her music especially much, but because I'm simply fascinated by how she and her fans operate, it's crazy on so many levels. And as weird as her fans' fixation on her dating life and everything is, even weirder is that Taylor herself did in a sense build her whole brand by encouraging that exact parasocial relationship and is now kind of trapped in a prison of her own making. But I'm not sure how much of an innocent victim she is in all of this, if you dive in just a little bit you can find yourself wondering whether this whole romance isn't if not entirely manufactured, at least being wilfully exploited to generate this frenzy in the first place; Taylor has her tour movie coming out next week, Travis (and his brother) apparently had a documentary come out last month on Prime, NFL viewership has been on the decline for years and young women are probably their most untapped demographic, etc...

I mean by any sane measure she should be a lock for an AOTY nomination but this being the Grammys.....

So I actually got tickets from Stubhub for one of the shows in Europe and although I was sooo scared it worked out perfectly for me. You should definitely look for mobile transfer tickets if they have any, that means the seller will directly transfer the tickets to your Ticketmaster account so it's pretty much the safest option. But even if they don't have those I'd still go for normal E-tickets. I actually had a great experience with StubHub's customer support, after I received my E-ticket as a PDF I was still a bit paranoid about whether I would have a problem entering the venue since the ticket had a different name on it, and I sent them a support ticket asking if they would contact the seller and ask them to transfer the ticket to my Ticketmaster account and they actually made it happen, pretty quickly as well! Might have just been my luck, though!

That must have been so frustrating, were you able to get a ticket otherwise? So something very weird happened with the payment for me, at first I was able to pay just with normal my German bank account but then after I bought my ticket I went back to the ticket selection page to see if I could also get a ticket for my friend who was way back in the queue and I was actually able to add another ticket to my cart but this time when I tried to pay the payment options had been reduced and you could only pay with credit card or Dutch bank account, so I couldn't get it. Honestly don't know what was going on. I didn't have the bot problem, I guess my search for tickets was successful pretty quickly both times so I didn't have to click it too often.

Oh and also very important part I forgot to say!! When I first got through the queue and onto the ticket selection page there weren't any tickets available BUT I just stayed on that page and kept refreshing (or like querying for tickets idk anymore how the interface was) and after a couple of minutes I suddenly got a ticket, so whatever you do don't give up immediately if you get through and no tickets are available. I'd keep trying for a good while to be honest, because often people put tickets into their cart and then it gets reserved for them for like 10-20 minutes but they end up not buying it because payment doesn't go through or they don't like the seat selection etc. and the ticket randomly becomes available again, if you stay on the page and keep refreshing you have a chance of snagging it.

So this is what I learned and worked for me personally when I was buying tickets for Amsterdam on Ticketmaster. The queue itself opens whenever the sale starting time is, but there is a waiting room which opens 30 minutes before that. Everyone in the waiting room is automatically placed into the queue once it's time. It isn't important how early you join the waiting room, the queue places are randomised. There's debate on whether refreshing the waiting room just before it ends is helpful or not, I actually did refresh it a few seconds before it ended and was able to buy tickets. (I also did the same thing when I was going for Taylor Swift tickets and also was able to buy them, so idk I'm pretty convinced of it but like I said, as far as I know there's no definitive information about this, it could also just be pure luck on my part.) Once you're in the queue you definitely shouldn't refresh because if you do you will lose your spot and be placed at the back of the queue.
