Album!!! Edit: Lmaoooo Ok… so I understood that WRONG… We got a song…. And yet no one corrected me????????
-
Y’all really thought the title track would be different? It sounded pretty finished to me during that Valentino show and Twigs seems like the type to only want to share fully formed projects. I also have this gut feeling that “Talk To Me” might be on the new album only because it sounds similar to what we’ve seen. Can’t wait to see what Friday bringsssss!!

Her face in the second pic makes me chuckle. It’s like she’s giving a little smug side-eye.. like “Yeah, this is my man. Deal with it.”

Your Delusional Lana Theories
dietpussycola replied to Daytona Beach Sparkler's topic in Lana Thoughts
Lmaoo I did a little more research and found that Lana was seen at some clubs a few months before she released a snippet of Candy Necklace on Aug. 23, 2022. Ecco2k, Bladee, and Yung Lean. These artists seem to be tied to that EDM scene as well. So maybe not so far-fetched of a theory. Lol Makes me wonder if the second half of A&W has any relation? -
Your Delusional Lana Theories
dietpussycola replied to Daytona Beach Sparkler's topic in Lana Thoughts
Lol I just remembered another theory I had.. that Candy Necklace talks about Jack Donoghue by exploring the edm/rave scene. I know she gave us one meaning with the Candy Necklace video, but the lyrics say something else. I have this feeling that the “candy” she’s talking about is actually in reference to the rave term, “kandi”. Now I’m not too familiar with rave culture.. but from what I know about it, kandi is basically a type of beaded jewelry that ravers make to share with other ravers. It makes sense if you remember that Jack Donoghue is a DJ/electronic artist who was also in a band called SALEM, known in the EDM world for their witchhouse sound. I’m also inclined to believe that this may be why she chose to release the BEADED A&W and CANDY necklaces as merch. Plus, the whistles (common at raves), that (ugly ) 3-piece set with the Paradise pattern, and the psychedelic-esque vinyl of DYKTTATUOB. Very festival/rave type stuff IMO. Edit: Also, in the song she mentions “dancing with the young and reckless.” Raves/clubs have generally younger audiences. -
Can’t wait for the potential live Lasso debut.

Guys… I messed up my vote…… I didn’t notice someone else voted out G-Easy before me. So technically, I didn’t take a point away from someone. These are the correct numbers. I only subtracted from Francesco’s score to change what should have been done in my other post. The rest of the scores should match up. Forgive me.. K - 1 Josh Kemp - 5 Reeve Carney - 6 Arthur Lynn - 5 Steven Mertens - 5 Mike Mizrahi - 5 Barrie James O-Neill - 8 Francesco Carrozzini - 2 Chase Stogel - 4 Clayton Johnson - 5 Mike Hermosa - 12 Evan Winiker - 5 Jack Donoghue - 17

That performance almost made me tear up seeing it for the first time. I just know this next album is going to be so artistically decadent.

AKA - Youthful and naive. You can be exaggerating and immature at times, but at least you mean well. You know you shouldn’t be doing certain things, but how else are supposed to learn. You didn’t promise anything after all. So keep trying and soon you’ll know all you can know. BTD/Paradise - Money-, Liquor-, and Adventure-Driven. You’re a wild child with a taste for the grander things in life. You’ve still got some growing to do, but you’re going to enjoy yourself while you’re doing it. It’s off to the races with you. UV - Broody and bold. A true black beauty. You’re not afraid of the ugliness in life. In fact, you might be drawn towards it. You’re the type to get in your head about things. A “sad girl” (sad person), yet you hold yourself strong. Very sensual and a tad temperamental. HM - Quiet and Sophisticated. There’s an air about you. The type that find themselves in calm spaces. You love tucking into a good book and maybe get high by the beach. Though more of an introvert, you still know how to exude confidence and sensuality. You won’t be misunderstood. LFL - Optimistic Idealist. You’re a dreamer. You look to the future more than the past. Sometimes this gets you into some not-so-beautiful problems, but at the same time it’s what drives you to keep reaching for the change you so desire. Tomorrow will never come if you don’t try today. NFR - Hopeful Romantic. You love to love even though you might get hurt doing it. The type that enjoys a good scenic car-ride going 60mph on PCH drive. Perhaps a bit of a people pleaser, but you’re working on how to say no. Hope is a dangerous thing for a person like you to have - but you have it. COCC - Sincere and sensible. You’ve got a good head on you. You’ve lived life and learned from it. The most important lesson you’ve learned being that not all who wander are lost. Now you’re ready to live the way you want while sharing it with others. Perhaps once a huge Born to Die fan who’s since calmed down. BB - Eclectic and Mysterious. You’ve learned who you are and what you want out of life, but can be reticent to show it. Sometimes people misunderstand you because of this. It doesn’t bother you much though. You know what you’re doing, so you don’t care what people will think. You run with the wolves and you do what you do. DYKTTATUOB - Thoughtful and multifaceted. You’ve got an old soul, but also a fire that will never falter. You like to look back while tracing fingertips over plastic bags and take in what life has given you. The type to let themselves feel the highs and the lows. You can be found in the club and sitting on the sofa all on the same night. Lasso - DELUSIONAL. (i.e. Me.) I’ll send you my number to a good psychiatrist I know in LA - your psych meds aren’t working. This album is not coming in September.

EDM summer is starting to get old for me. I can feel myself drifting back to my dreamy songs.

Norman Fucking Rockwell - Post-Release Discussion Thread + Poll
dietpussycola replied to Elle's topic in Post-Release Threads
Happy 5th Anniversary, Norman Fucking Rockwell!!!! I can’t believe it’s been 5yrs since the release. What a special album. I feel like it was the beginning of where we are now with Lana’s current artistry. Here’s to an album that brought so much peace when the world was on the verge of disaster and when I didn’t know what the hell I was going to do with my life. Still don’t.. but at least this album is forever there to provide some comfort. I feel like this was also the last album where being a Lana fan was so much simpler. I miss it a bit, but I’m also glad Lana has continued giving just as beautiful songs/albums after NFR’s conception. Also, glad she is able to share works like this album at an even larger scale. -
