I’ve been trying to formulate my thoughts around this album all day, but I just CAN’T. FIND. THE. WORDS... It’s THEE album for me. It’s the era that solidified my appreciation for Lana’s artistry and I really hope Lana returns to this sound one day. I’d especially love to see if she could turn this sound into something more uplifting now that she’s in a happier headspace.

Lana got ‘em with her glock it seems.

I found this speech to be very thoughtful of Lana. I understood it as Lana saying that she is very grateful for how things have worked out in her favor, but that maintaining the passion is becoming difficult. She gives examples of how keeping a firm mindset in her younger years has helped her stick to her “plan A” but, naturally, with her being in this career path for so long the passion/excitement for it has started to burn less fiercely. She feels this need to revitalize that flame. Perhaps that’s why she wants to go “meet with the people.” She’s said this a few times at other recent events about how she wants to explore places like Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky, etc.. places with slower & simpler ways of living. Perhaps she sees that as a way to get back to those early days.

Jesus.. Lana has done SOO much for me.. I just admire how multifaceted she is. It reminds me that I can be the same way too. I can be reserved but still have a wild spirit and do it all on my own terms. I’d say the biggest way that’s she’s helped me is through her songwriting. She describes even the most tragic things so poetically and sometimes with such subtlety, but almost always with sincerity and vulnerability. I’ve had a few of my own not-so-great experiences as well, but have always tended to keep things to myself. Eventually, I realized that I needed to somehow process these things aloud in order for me to move on from them, so I took to songwriting as a way to help my anxieties. Since I started songwriting, I’ve had so much relief and gained so much personal contentment. I’ve never felt more confident than I do now and I believe it is in large part due to Lana and her artistry. Emotionally, I’ve grown so much in a similar way that Lana has. It’s probably why I admire her so much. With each album release, it seems that we both enter into a similar stage of life. It’s why I choose to continue following her journey.

Babygirl is in her most confident era thus far and I’m just SO happy for heeeerrrrr!!!
