That whole bridge Makes it pretty close for me, but when that "Mermaid Motel" chorus kicks in I'm instantly a burlesque dancer and that counts for something.

Fuck the forum skipping ahead past unread posts, how did I miss this? Three days old The answer is a resounding yes. As long as can also eat some cake while we're doing this

My friend literally sent me this yesterday with the caption "walked into the room you know you made my eyes burn" :creepy: -
I'm not talking about your favorite song, or your favorite lyric. I'm talking about the moment in a song that makes it special, that you find yourself waiting for and anticipating. Production elements, a particular accent or vocal trick used, kicking in of a certain instrument...all this applies. However, this is exclusively Lana. For me, it's the final chorus of "Mermaid Motel". I don't know the musical jargon of the technique she uses there in her vocals (Monicker could probably teach me a thing or two), but it's absolutely mesmerizing and a real contender for one of the most brilliant, effective decisions she's made in her music. How's that for a grand statement? Even if the credit goes to David Kahne for that last chorus, maybe that's just confirmation of what a dream team they were. It just instantly stops me, the way it seems almost...turned inside out? Just go listen to it, it starts at 3:02. While I did wanna share that, I'm really interested to know your musical moments with Lana. Anticipating some "dark nights" from "Yayo", don't disappoint me

"Million Dollar Man" really does it for me, and I see a lot of people hate it/prefer the demo. It's the most appropriate use of the Auto-Tuned Loon and it's so atmospheric.

:creepy: Good point, though--I guess we can rule out "American". -
Don't know about the other part of your question, but this has been bugging me, too. Now you have to go through a whole ordeal of right-clicking ---> "view image", bah.

See I imagine oldies from his perspective would be, like, monk chants, maybe some church bells, a lute...

As long as she releases new music herself, I think. But if my mind were to be erased of all the leaks we already have? Probably not.

LANALYSIS: Relating Songs To Known/Assumed Relationships

This begs the question...when was "Lucky Ones" written? Because she's obviously not been dating Barrie that long (maybe a year at this point?), and all we know "Radio" was the last song written for Born to Die. "Burning Desire" is pretty nonspecific, but nothing about it is particularly sad, so I could get with that. bad fan tbqh Everyone's agreed it's a grower, give it a chance. -

Or she wants Barrie to be her "full-time daddy" because, well..."singing blues has been getting old". -

But it's obviously a current state of mind, you know? Cute, I love to indulge vagueness that does me no good! -

Racism, though. Your entire post is absolutely true, but this thread in particular is addressing claims that she is a racist and that's she's exploiting native heritage for money. I'm sorry, but that's way beyond whatever ignorance she did actually exhibit in the video.

Pass around my flyer to expose Lana Del Rey, gais.
-
Ooh, good words, i hope?
-
Ignorant, maybe. Racist? That's a little far, in my opinion.

How would you refer to it?

Okay, now it's officially too much for me.

Death to her "vintage" videos, "Ride" manages to evoke the same feel without being doused in Instagram filters.
