Can you believe we live in a world where a tweet discussing (in a positive way) Lana's caption on Instagram makes 400k+ retweets. 2012 outsold. She's popular

I agree that it is but I still don't appreciate your tone Welcome to LB, I'm the most susceptible member around here. I did said it would sound stupid, I'm aware of it, so I'm not looking for judgement, and I'm precisely asking to confirm if it's a reach or not. I've done my research and can't find anything on their relation, but as it weirdly immediately struck me relistening to it this morning, I thought maybe someone else had this in mind? Whatever That's precisely what I'm asking, did they? I adore Melanie's music but never really stanned her in that sense, and I'm just getting into Billie, so excuse my ignorance, but anyway the bellyache verse of UM is the only part of the song that reminds me of Billie so it's def a reach but I would be really interested in it if it's the case, especially with the beef of Billie and Copycat and the girl she allegedly wrote it for, I don't remember her name, it struck me as a parallel

Imagine Lana covering this. I would fucking kill myself in a public place. One of my absolute favourite songs of all time. And for once it's REALLY a song that she could 1) love 2) make sound like her.

Norman Fucking Rockwell - Pre-Release Thread

If there absolutely HAS to be a collaboration on the album, and furthermore if it has to be a male collab, I would like it to be Hozier. I'm nowhere near a fan but if you listen to these songs which I consider have similar vibes, finding a middle ground with Venice Bitch sound could be PHENOMENAL. Specifically Arsonist's Lullaby. Hozier always struck me as something similar to a male version of Lana... And he's an insanely better vocalist than the dude on TNC that I completely forgot the name of. Offence -

I'm listening to MAC for DEADASS the very first time since VB got released and it definitely confirms that VB is one of Lana's best songs lmfao. I hope MAC is the Coachella of NFR in the exact sense you think it means -
Genuine question that's probably gonna sound incredibly stupid to hardcore aficionados but is there like 1% chance Unhappy Meal is partly about Billie Eilish? I know it sounds wildly stupid but the bellyache verse got me thinking. It sounds like a diss idk

Things You Know Lana Won't Do

Leave my poor scalp alone -
Yup it's the one Drake sampled on Do Not Disturb from More Life but funny enough it's one of my least favourites from the album. And I don't like Drake. She remains an absolute goddess regardless

Moments/memories of your life involving Lana's music
annedauphine replied to Beautiful Loser's topic in Lana Thoughts
As some of you might know Serial Killer (along with You're Gonna Love Me) is my favourite song of ALL TIME. BY FAR. And my first Lana concert was a total fuckup that I'll regret my entire life but when I saw her at Lolla Paris with @ she sang Serial Killer live while it was softly raining and night had fallen. And something in me broke. It was like... Correct. Meant to be. And when she sang Love softly there was two cute gays kissing the most lovingly I've ever seen someone kiss and I cried so hard man. I cried so so so so hard. And the first time I listened to Serial Killer too, I legit had an *rg*sm, I wish I was exaggerating Also one day I took the train to Edinburgh and in preparation I had downloaded all of her homemade music videos and I watched them on a loop listening to the Versailles interview on a loop and it's a memory very dear to me And long long before I started even remotely thinking of Lana, in like early 2014, I remember I was making a pasta gratin and it was SOOOOO GOOD and I was listening to some reason to Video Games (I think it was on a tumblr playlist of a guy I was into) and I vividly remember tweeting something along the lines of "singing Video Games by Lana Del [sIC] to my dinner because heaven is on earth with it" if I had only knew. And once in English class we were viewings clips of Leonard Cohen and my classmates by then knew I was a psychopathic Lana stan so they asked my teacher to play Lana's Chelsea Hotel instead than Leonard's. Bro I was an ocean for the rest of the day -
Thank you so much for keeping me company lol, but I think this is a lost cause. Good for me, the less people know her the more chances to be able to bask in her pure beauty at first row of her concerts again yay Yeah she's an obsessive stan of Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder... And I don't listen to them at all but for those who do it's apparently really obvious in her music. I like the soulfulness and slight raspiness of her voice a lot but I do wish she sang more straight up jazz - although even tho she's a great vocalist I'm really not sure she could pull that off :/ - or more stuff like the song There Will Be Sunshine which really stands out from the rest. One thing that's sure is that her voice is desperately not made for pop If you or anyone wants a dl link, I dld and compiled all her songs from her SoundCloud (so it's like 128kpbs but still better than nothing right) and made custom covers from my fav pics of her, I can drop a link! Cause anyways I'm definitely buying the vinyl, the art doesn't completely fits her universe imho (except for Don't Explain, the cover is EXACTLY what the songs sound like) but it's fabulous so And this is my current song obsession from her:

Your Dream Lana Merch/Vinyl
annedauphine replied to Make me your Dream Life's topic in Lana Thoughts
I like Taylor, I LOVE Reputation and I 100% agree, something similar but adapted to Lana would be amazing. I'm thinking of vintage Life or Playboy inspo Basically I need much more printed materials for this era, and by this I don't mean a vaguely updated, still full of typos lyrics book. But something like the Paradise tour book 1000x power could be fucking amazing. I actually rly liked it, it felt more produced than anything else -

I know I just post this in my personal thread and I apologise for it but I quickly adapted a lil concept for a NFR tablet app / website. I think it would be EXTREMELY cool if there was a bit more interactive stuff for the next era; it's silly but I absolutely dig when artists do apps related to a project, and even sometimes it includes virtual reality stuff, it's just super mega cool, and it makes us feel worthy as fans imho. An app / site for her poetry book could be insanely cool as well. So many graphic possibilities -

I'd go even further; I hope the pic we have is one of the worst of the bunch and the actual cover is even better -
Forgot how much I love drama when I'm not involved

It is so impossibly mind-blowing to me that someone like Kanye would support someone like Trump, I've been the human embodiment of an interrogation mark since this all started I RLY don't want to be that girl at all but if you could please try to avoid using these words as insults it would be amazing

Hum fuck this is incredible? I love her lil lisp She noticed me for the third time on twitter... Yall better bandwagon lol

Oh yes I apologise, I just checked the dates and indeed she announced on February 6th getting out of 1Oak that it would be out May 1st. For my defence I only started being a stan in late December 2014 Missing the UV era is one of the biggest regrets of my life -

annedauphine replied to Elle's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
True but also didn't she announced UV for March 1st? And it came out June 13th? Or am I mistaken? We're literally fan of an artist that has "trust no one" tattooed and she did say "probably"... Tropico doesn't forget -
After listening to the album on a loop several times I'm able to announce that for now my favourites are All I Have, Worse, You Keep Me Waiting, Fool For You, Walls and my favourite of them all Nothing Burns Like The Cold. But Sometimes and Time and Feels and the beginning of Like I Used To are amazing as well and are rly growing on me. One of my favourite albums for sure but tbqfh her music is just the icing on the cherry on the chocolate coated moist cake I love this song as well tbh

I'm curious, why don't you? Even just regarding the lyrics it's impossible for me not associate them. They got "summer" plastered all over. But funny enough for me the strongest association is Sirens and the end of fall -

annedauphine replied to Elle's topic in Retired Pre-Release Threads
I wouldn't mind if the album was out as late as in early June on the basis that it would be the 5y anniversary of Ultraviolence, which could be a premonition of the sound and vibe, which would in turn be a premonition of my death -
Forever Neverland by MØ but I'm scared asf. I'll trust this goddess tho. And if Cruel Youth ever decide to release an album sigh
