So like you said not to go in too deep from it but I think you missed my point entirely. PC Music and the whole queer culture that they parade around there music borrows heavily from the Ball Culture, something pioneered by queer POC (and something definitely lacking on their label). I guess a lot of it comes down to perception, but in my eyes they really pay faux-respect to the whole thing. It's a bunch of straight white people up on a stage playing repackaged queer-inspired sounds while attempting to vogue but be "ironic" and do it poorly. It just comes across as very appropriative to me. To me PC Music started off as a camp project and I just feel like the more they push this queer image, the more they're doing it just to seem "different" and "weird". I just feel like they don't actually respect these queer people that they surround themselves with (minus SOPHIE) and that they're really just using them to build an image. Also please don't get me started on Dorian Electra as if anyone would know who they(idk which pronoun they use?) are if they didn't build internet support through white supremacists and the Libertarian party in the early 2010s.

I'll never forgive her for not coming to the Pop 2 shows
  7. The fact that all of you are forcing comparisons to CMBYN not only reenforces the fact that none of you even understood what that movie was about but is also playing into this annoying notion that there is one singular LGBTQ+ narrative and that these narratives need to compete. If you didn't like CMBYN thats 100% fine but idk why you're talking about it here. Anyways I haven't seen the movie yet but I read the book a couple months ago and I really enjoyed it. It was a little more YA novel than I like at this point but I think a lot of the themes in it are so universal that I ended up loving it anyways. I'm well out of my adolescence at this point but I really wish this novel/movie had been around when I was in that 15-18 range, I think a narrative like this would have helped younger me so much more than the other YA garbage I was reading at that age. Reading it now as someone who has been out of that time of my life for awhile it still really pulled at my heartstrings about the nervousness and shame that comes around being in the closet and the cathartic release of finally getting it off your shoulders. From what I've seen the movie looks like it stays roughly true to the book's original plot line and I'm so happy that it's getting such a crazy warm response. I love that the movie is accessible to the average adolescent/teenager who may be struggling to realize their sexuality in the mess of finding yourself. In high school, all I wanted to be was normal and accepted, and the idea of being gay seemed to go directly against that. It would have been nice to walk into a theater, see this movie and realize just how possible that is (it also would have helped with a lot of internalized hatred about myself for being gay and not normal). I really do think the representation is great and I think it's extremely important to have different LGBTQ+ narratives in popular culture. Moonlight (while the film wasn't necessarily about being gay), Call Me By Your Name, Love Simon, Gods Own Country are all extremely different films and it's so cool to be in a time where these narratives are being put at the forefront of culture. When I was younger I knew I was attracted to men (I felt I was also attracted to women) but society had conditioned me to believe that I was not gay or bi because I didn't want to dress in drag and dance in a thong in a club. I know that sounds really stupid but as a pre-teen/adolescent I never really saw LGBTQ+ representation beyond the common stereotypical media tropes. So I think it's really cool that there are these types of narratives and I hope to see tons more.

Honestly if the visuals and props are as half assed as the Sucker tour then I'd rather her just come out and perform the songs like she has been doing

I just think it's odd that you think someone is going to record something higher quality than the professionally recorded Nylon set on their phone?

Omg I was popping off singing every word thinking everyone else was too and then I looked around and everyone was staring blankly at the stage Idk why you guys on this forum are expecting people to get some kind of heavenly, FLAC quality recording of songs at shows. Between the amount of people screaming, Charli herself, and our iPhone microphones I really don't understand what you are expecting.

Omg the NYC show was so much fun, I had such a blast. The energy in the room for Unlock It and I Got It was incredible it was amazing. The afterparty was really cool too, I got there super late (like right as Kim left ) and it was super crowded (small room) but it was so fun and Charli held my hand while she was crowd surfing there

Her apology was half assed ~at best~ and the whole "I was actually trying to be funny, but I'm sorry" isn't really an apology, it's more of an excuse. Regardless of whether she tweeted sorry because she received backlash, she still sent it in as a review knowing it would be published, you can apologize for being racist, but you still have to deal with the consequences of being racist. *Also PC Music as a whole lifts a lot of their material from trends started by LGBTQ+ POC but rarely shows out to support those artists beyond working with Mikky Blanco once but thats a whole different issue.*

Tbt to 2015 when she thought she was being edgy trying to show off for Vice and outed herself as a racist

In a perfect world Fancy and TFIOS would have come out a year later in 2015, the punk album would have come out in mid-late 2014, The album we know as Sucker would have already had the punk songs released and album following the punk one would be the Benny Blanco, Jarod Rogers, and Stargate tracks. That would would have been much more cohesive and better received by the public. Charli would have begun working with SOPHIE by then, The Vroom Vroom tracks would be on an album with the XCX3 and Exchange tracks in late 2016/mid 2017 and we would be fresh off that tour with her now working on a new album.

Does anyone have the videos/audio of the first time we heard the Vroom Vroom songs when SOPHIE played them in a random DJ set?

I mean that venue barely holds 600 people. There are restaurants with bigger capacities than that. The show was meant to be small an intimate. No way in hell Charli would be able to pull off a major arena tour by herself. She may be playing for 100K people, but they're there for Taylor Swift and she's going to be the first opener (probably starting 15 minutes after the doors open and before most people in the upper levels even get to their seats)
