  1. The song is gorgeous, the lyrics are better with the music. The fact that she released the first single on her own YT channel: bye (fuck you) Interscope, true jazz queen
  2. Is Lana following Lanaboards? Maybe she read some negative posts here because she stopped posting on her Instagram
  3. Don't be that embarrassed dear. First, I think that there is a difference between psychiatry and psychology. I never said that Lana is mentally ill, albeit her self-loathing and random behavior is bordering a pathological condition sometimes. For me, half of the fascination with her comes from her backstory, the criticism she faced and her (often) unpredictable and strange behavior. Because of that I'm more focused on the fact that she's promoting her 3rd album on a random Instagram account which is awkward to me. So, with Lana you have to take on the "armchair" psychologist sometimes. But is not that serious, is just chitchatting about an artist.
  4. I'm stil puzzled about this. It makes no sense that she's not using her main account where she gets 500k likes on a selfie. Sometimes I have the feeling that she invents strange ways of hurting herself (her career). I remeber last year's interview debacle, she just went on and on...she was unstoppable in button pushing and after that she just ditched the entire era. It's seems sometimes that she doesn't love herself, look at the way she dresses, those awful shoes. I have the impression sometimes that she likes to be percieved as an outsider, or even to be criticized. She wasn't like that at the begining of the BTD era. This makes her complicated, unpredictable and facinating but it's getting tiresome after a while. In this era I would rather see her presenting her video on vevo talking coherently about her ideas behind her music, smiling, being fashionable etc.
  5. let's stop this nonsense and talk about how Lana is managing her new era on a 150k instagram account
  6. unfortunately the lyrics are as deep as your lame attempt to sarcasm
  7. Please stop with this moon thing, it's becoming embarrassing. We have the lyrics for Honeymoon and you can find the word honey but has nothing to do with the moon (so the idea of honey-moon is BS). Even the meaning of "honeymoon" (used in the chorus) has little connection with the rest of the lyrics because they can refer to any stage of an relationship. Honeymoon seems to be a word that she likes "the sound of it", just like "ultraviolence" and probably it describes the "vibe" of the album, I don't think that she's developing some concrete ideas related to that particular stage in a relationship.
  8. no, that is from her past, the revenge porn part is from the video
  9. Thanks to Lana this is the first Rihanna video that I watched in its entirety. I kind of understand her connection to Rihanna because she was hit by Chris Brown and it felt like a kiss. But it seems that Rih it's not a sad girl she's more a bad girl with a thing for revenge porn, nonetheless the video is cute and "empowering" I guess.
  10. The HM account it's more like a statement, think of the UV video. HM is alive and breathing, I'm tired in the studio in June and I shot two videos before I even finished the album.
  11. Lana is unpredictable, but I believe that the HM release has to do something with the relationship between her and Interscope. I'm certain that we'll know much more about it after the release of HM because I suspect that things weren't fine between them after SNL despite what Interscope or Lana said in the press. I thought that HM will be a return to a more commercial sound and more involvement in the promotion of her music. But the signs that we have until now point in a different direction, that she will continue the artsy releases like Paradise and UV. Regarding promotion the strongest suggestion so far seems that she didn't let the press on her tour. Things were good and quiet and I think that she is just fed up with the press and she doesn't want more exposure. Using a new Instagram account (with just 150k followers) for promoting HM suggests that she wants to isolate the whole process of promoting HM, saying that HM will be an intimate album, artsy, with a non-pop sound and it's for people who love her sound and artistic persona. The dog avatar, from her main Instagram account, symbolizes for me that she's in defensive mode, she was deeply hurt and she will not accept the media bullying anymore, she wants to keep the haters out. Because of that I expect that she will be more cautious with her interviews and appearances and frankly I don't think that she will go on TV or at big bonanzas.
  12. When she teased us with snippets in the past usually something happened within 2 weeks. But remebering how the UV release went, I don't get the point of releasing singles if they don't have hit potential and you will not promote it. The released singles are getting old when the album is getting out and somehow this strategy diminishes the record in my view. If she doesn't want to promote she better pull a Beyonce with some good videos. btw I got a tweet that something will happen on NoiseyMusic. If she is comming on Noisey first then HM will be a great artsy, niche album like UV with a small budget (Interscope certainly isn't making any visible moves)
  13. The second snippet is beautifully sad. Those who expected a more poppier sound can leave the bandwagon now. I'm more convinced that she's going the dark queen route and she doesn't give a shit about more exposure. I can't wait for the queen to give me more of those beautiful sad anthems
  14. She's so cute looking tired and all. We are so impatient with her, saying that she is lazy. She's a selfless goddess, who's working relentlessly to put some great music out for us, who are not worthy. I listened to a better version of the HM acapella and I must say that I'm intrigued, even the lyrics sound better now. I kind of get her strategy to promote HM: she created an Instagram special account for talking to her core fans about the ideas behind HM and the process of making a record. This would be great from her tbh
  15. Lana never said that she'll release something this month! The model said something but he knows shit tbh. The only real clue that we have is that she released that nonsensical snipet on instagram and that she sung acapella HM on tour. She practically annointed Nowels as the main producer of HM also on Instargam. Speculation: From all this my take is that HM is a contract filler album and she's on her own from now on. I don't expect any promo tbh or good videos because Interscope probably didn't gave her the money for it. I read recently an interview with Janick, the head of Interscope, and he barely mentioned that Lana will release an album this year. I hope for a good album nonetheless but now I'm getting tired by the way people (included some of her fans) are treating her. It's exhausting for me as a fan but I could not imagine how was/is for her. I don't think that is that far fetched that she'll retire after HM, she said it numerous times and my feeling is that she meant it and she's just waited for the contract to end because this is not only about her. That would explain the speed of the releases also. I think that she's genuinely depressed and she just cannot harness any joy out of being in this business that is only working for the self-absorbed and self assured characters.
  16. I like UV and Auerbach did a good job, I don't understand what's your problem with my post. She put Nowels on instagram and praised his skills as she did with Auerbach regarding UV. I said "it seems" that Nowels is the main producer, I don't know for sure, we are in a speculation tread about HM. Paradise and Ultraviolence were not liked by Interscope from what I read about it. Paradise a money maker? I don't think so, look at the numbers (streaming, ep sell figures)
  17. Nowels seems to be the new Auerbach. I think that Ronson has a marginal contribution if any on HM. I'm worried more about the Lana style Instagram promo tbh. This is shaping up to be another unwanted release by Interscope after Paradise and Ultraviolence (so I hope at least for a UV level solid album)
  18. Interesting. I didn't know about the significance of those places. So, "the blues" hints at the glamorous (artsy) life on Wilshire Blvd. and "the news" alludes to the shady activities on Pico Blvd?
  19. Suddenly, I kind of like Francesco!
  20. I got a tweet from a reliable Lana source that Lana followed someone from Vice/Noisey. They speculate that she'll release HM video through Vice. UV video teas.
  21. Lana always delivered soundwise on her albums, I never was disappointed in that aspect of her work. Her voice is heavenly (that's the main reason I stan for her). What I'm worried about is the theme of the album and the lyrics. The HM single lyrics are on the bad side for me and if the rest of the album is in the same mold I fear that HM will be her lowest graded album so far. I myself am somewhat tired of the undefined bad guys in her lyrics and it's kind of ridiculous to express your desperate love towards this type of dudes in 3 consecutive albums (I said that while I'm not focusing on her lyrics tbh) Combine badish lyrics with some languid movie music produced by Heath or Haynie (somewhat like the second part of UV or the songs she made recently for Haynie and for the movies) and she'll face a huge commercial and critical flop
