Despite its lukewarm reception with fans, LFL is such a charming album for me. there was something truly special when she released the title track. I’ve always loved the album trailer, the music videos, the visuals Idk if it was because the time period but the album meshed so well with everything else that was being released in 2017. It was such a fun time to be a Lana stan, I miss the era a lot

oceanic feeling is so underrated tbh lyrics are beautiful and the 90sish production is endearing

this is a great point and her finale to opener transitions are some of my favorites…HIADT to White Dress is absolutely lethal. Considering that Sweet Carolina (probably my favorite song on BB and one of my fav piano songs from her) and The Grants are both about her family, she’s obviously given it some thought and I just know it’ll blow us away.

Honestly, I’m guessing we’re not going to be seeing songs lyrically similar to something like Venice since the new songs on the album will most likely be wordy, but I do have an appreciation for songs with simple lyrics like it. Dream pop songs like it typically just have simple lyrics anyways, like Fade Into You by Mazzy Star, Milk by Sweet Trip, anything by Cocteau Twins, etc where the focus is a bit more of the atmosphere the song creates. I personally enjoy its lyrics despite its simplicity. But I also just like the song so it’s a subjective opinion and I don’t blame you for disliking them This talk really makes me wonder about the lyrical content/styling of her songs in TUOB! I wonder if all of them will be as wordy yet poetic like the title track

I definitely agree that Lana is a major influence for that alt pop tumblr surge in the mid 2010s, but I do credit the XX more for actually kicking it off - but for some reason they’re much less referenced these days than her regarding influence/impact which is sacrilege tbh
