Maybe they are delaying the songs and MV due to the release of LFA, like they were a planned release this week but since LFA was dropped they are going to hold off.

 

LFA wasn't planned so maybe they feel like single/mv combo would be better suited closer to release date for more promo/hype.

 

That's my take on it, not expecting it this week now.

 

We will see I guess.

The snippet has me very very excited. Love the verses and the energy. The dream a little dream a little dream of me part has been one of my fave lines since the original snippets. Really looking forward to hearing the whole track! Cannot wait to hear how it develops and kind of curious about the bridge. Hopefully NZ gets it and DOESNT upload it for us all to NOT listen to lol!

LFA is so beautiful and ethereal. Just like wow, the talent she has is so abundant. Love the sentiment and subject matter. It is a universal theme I feel most can relate to. It gives me big Joni Mitchell vibes too, very nice.

I'm pretty blasé towards it, but it's cute and a pleasant addition we weren't expecting. Sort of like how we all heard You Must Love Me - nice, unexpected and fine, but not sure I'll listen to it non stop. It's most not dramatic enough in her vocal range.

It totally fits L4L in the witch vibes, and how coquettish her vocals are.

I totally agree with your sentiment behind the song! Nice enough to have but nothing amazing.

Is it just me or the cover is just... meh?

It’s nice, I like it but am not blown away by it. Obv very excited we got it. I love the background vocals and how they come in from diff sides. It sounds extremely muffled to me though, not in a good way. Also the song is extremely repetitive, no fault on her for that but it doesn’t really go anywhere. I’ll still listen to it though lol!

I agree, I’m not really hearing silent suite either. I hear something like song and sweet/suite. I def hear her say “song” and then the sweet,suite part idk.

 

I may be crazy but I hear meet me in a song and then something suite/sweet. I’d like to think it’s meet me in a song my sweet but that’s not what I hear. It’s more like “meet me in a song and suite”, idk lol. I chose suite cause it makes more sense in that context to me.

After spending a full day with the snippets that breakdown and change in California is still the highlight for me!

Now that we have HQ snippets are we still hearing “hold me, love me, touch me, honey” or “hold me, love me, touch me, hold me”? Cause I’ve always heard it as her saying hold me again at the end and now it sounds even more that way to me.

It reminds me very much of the bridge of Hey Blue Baby also.

 

Speaking of Hey Baby Blue, Looking For America has a similar sound to it as well. Especially during the when we collide part.

you’re right we haven’t heard it all! I’m sure I’ll grow to appreciate it in its own right. But they certainly have changed enough of the lyrics. It’s not the same level the original was to me. It just comes off as shallow in a way with the lyrics they did change.

That countdown in California truly fucks me up! I cannot wait. That song is soooo good. I can already tell!

Love Song, Cinnamon Girl, and California are those songs as far as the snippets are concerned to me. Also very excited for The Greatest and FILY. Still also very excited for HIAB, sounds so nice with the studio snippet. I think I def prefer the basic piano instrumental with HTD. The beats are very interesting but take away from the song for me. It reminds me of BTD, the album, a lot for me. Poor BAR though, they did it so dirty. I know I haven’t heard it in full but I can tell I’ll def prefer the original. I really like all the snippets, very very very excited. Def is shaping up to be one of her strongest releases.

Just wanted to remind everyone how great Mariner’s Apt Complex is. It was the best single released and will stay one of the best tracks on the album once fully released. Truly amazing, instant classic. Been on repeat all day today!

Interesting rollout lol! I don’t mind the color of the green vinyl but am not loving that pop art stylized cover. Wish they would have had the normal cover, oh well. I bought it regardless! Will prob get a regular black one to play anyways. Love the few tour dates she dropped, just hope more US dates will be added between the west coast tour and European leg. Praying she hits up the rest of us in January! Doubtful but one can dream.
