  1. I'm excited omg! the cover I'm using is from like 2014 it's really cute, but a little outdated now
  2. I’ve got 17 in my collection rn but that’s not a ton lmao
  3. Thank you so much for sharing, it's so cute!!! I can kinda see why it didn't make the cut for Isolation tho -- I feel like it's a little too bubblegum-y and uptempo to fit with the mood of the album. So, is Cherry Tree or Bet You Want It a more 'final' title for it? Also, did it make it far enough to have a specific placement on the tracklist? Thank you again
  4. God bless you I’m loving these covers too — I know she mentioned also doing Linger by the Cranberries and Underneath It All by No Doubt on the Levi’s livestream, and I’d love to hear those! Let’s cross our fingers for an album
  5. This is so bizarre, she even looks a lot like her Her voice is just a *little* higher I think, but it's such a weird resemblance omg
  6. Carnival of Souls (1962) has pretty much moved out of b-movie territory and into the realm of classics, but it still has the character of its low-budget, drive-in roots. It's a true one-off: it was Herk Harvey's only non-industrial film, and the ethereal Candace Hilligoss' only major film role. It's one of the most atmospheric films I've ever seen, mixing the cold starkness of an industrial film with a woozy surreality that verges between daydream and nightmare. It's fabulous -- one of my favorite films ever, and genuinely haunting.
  7. JUST realized how amazing this song is, thanks to this thread reviving. I had only heard it maybe once before now, but it's quickly becoming one of my absolute favorites -- I can't imagine a more perfect blend of the BtD, Paradise, and UV sounds
  8. Krakow Live Festival is a CAREER highlight for me. One of my fave looks she's ever done -- that hair and make-up is incredible
  9. I don't know if you still need them, but Lana Del Rey Updates on Youtube has several of those performances posted in full! I'll quote the ones they have: Out of these, the only one that looks like it isn't complete is When I'm With You, which has two ~1 minute clips.
  10. Has anyone tried to decipher the lyrics on the concept demo (aside from @@Trash Magic in the leak thread -- a great start!!)? I know they're hard to hear, and pretty freeform anyway, but it'd be neat to puzzle them out. I had never noticed the Dune reference until I listened to it tonight, so I figured we might be able to figure it all out. Here's what I got from a pretty cursory listen: Love me in your arms I'm not gonna hurt you, kid ? treat me like your best friends did Hold me in your arms I'm not gonna hurt you, kid You can ? ? Pick you up a snow cone, four-leaf clover Baby Call me softcore I can be the ? Come on baby, don't stop now Honey, Dan's calling! Promise I won't hurt you, kid You can be the ? ? four-leaf clover You can read your favorite sci-fi like Dune You can read your favorite book, it's Dune In your favorite month ? it's June Heaven
  11. I remember hearing that Shades of Cool was recorded in December 2013, along with the infamous UV outtakes — Your Girl, Fine China, and Yes to Heaven. However, the wiki also says that Sad Girl and Is This Happiness were part of that session, which I don’t remember, but could be true.
  12. I watched it, and I totally agree. I haven't watched a new season of Drag Race in a really long time, because I felt like there'd been a definite decline in quality, but this seems promising! Plus, Heidi is from about 15 minutes away from where I am, so it's really nice to see a girl repping our little county

    It’s neither! It’s “fleas”
  15. it’s a weird list, but I think it would’ve hooked me for sure
  16. 1. Summertime Sadness 2. I Love Paris (Live) 3. Back to tha Basics 4. Butterflies, Pt. 2 5. Kinda Out of Luck Not bad! I’m curious, though, as to what it’d be if I limited it just to released stuff: 1. Religion 2. Heroin 3. Happiness is a Butterfly 4. Gods & Monsters 5. Venice Bitch This one, I’m not so sure What are your thoughts, girls
  17. One of my favorite LDR playlists I've made is Do U Luv Me Yet? (using an exquisite cover by @lmdr) It's like a first draft of BTD, consisting of songs that Lana seemed to put stock in, that didn't end up making the cut -- i.e. tracks she made videos for, posted on Soundcloud, etc., including demos of some BTD songs: DO U LUV ME YET? 1. Kinda Outta Luck 2. Velvet Crowbar 3. You Can Be the Boss 4. Us Against the World 5. Lucky Ones (Demo) 6. National Anthem (The Nexus Demo) 7. Hundred Dollar Bill 8. Diet Mountain Dew (The Flight Demo) 9. On Our Way (Version 2) 10. Dark Paradise (Yttling Demo) 11. Lolita (Demo 2) 12. Without You (Demo 2)
  18. I have a super small LDR collection atm, so my rarest piece isn’t very rare — but I love it anyway It’s the 2015 NME magazine she did, and I got it in a giveaway from the lovely @@annedauphine <3333 I’ve always thought this was such an underrated and really gorgeous piece — you’re so lucky to have one!!
  19. Are we sure this wasn’t the video of her performing Boarding School at CMJ?
  20. Especially after listening to the demo again, I feel like these lines are definitely "Cadillac convertible we're in All shy at two A.M."
  21. whewwwww that 4th one hits SO different I need it also omg Rich is finally coming...........i WIN
  22. While I’m not 100% if that’s what she’s saying, if it is, it’s probably like all the ‘dance craze’ songs of the 1950s/60s: “do the mashed potato”, “do the Watusi”, etc. Kinda like how she says “do the South Beach Swing”
  23. Y’all are making me so nostalgic My beginnings with Lana are kind of fuzzy, but I can place the start in the first quarter of 2012: I was in 5th grade (!!!), and it was before we moved to another town in the summer of that year. I vividly remember listening to Off to the Races on my little MP3 player while I swung on my tire swing in the front yard (Ride WHO) — I have absolutely no clue how I discovered it, but it was most definitely love at first listen! As a kid who was hung up on listening to 60’s girl groups, something about the music made sense to me — mixing the retro melodrama of the Shangri-Las with shades of modern pop beats and sensibilities was like bridging the worlds inside of me and outside of me. As much as I absolutely adored OTTR, the only other tracks I seem to remember stumbling across were Get Drunk and Kill Kill, either of which I also have no idea how I found — but I guess I’ve been a Lizzy stan since day 1! Regardless, excepting OTTR, which remained a constant in my library, I lost track of Lana for a couple years. I recall being aware of (but unimpressed with) the Summertime Sadness remix, although I don’t think I realized it was her — all I knew was that I thought she sang “sizzling like a snail”, because my best friend and I laughed over it when we heard it on the radio in our middle school cafeteria Then, somewhere around the middle of 2014 or so, I started really expanding my music tastes, and I wanted to hear more of wherever OTTR came from, as it’d been a favorite for two years — thus, I heard BTD, and Radio (which I kinda hate now lmao) turned me into a full-fledged stan! I caught up as fast as I could, and by the time Honeymoon was announced, I was hooked enough to be thrilled about a new album — sometime in that hype, I joined here! I think, though, waiting anxiously for the BBC radio premiere of Salvatore was the moment I realized how much a fan I was (and that song remains a favorite, as does OTTR, which is still second place ONLY to Put Me in a Movie!!!!) The only artist I’ve been a fan of for longer than Lana (if we’re counting from when I discovered them) is Janelle Monae, who beat Lana by a year — but I think Lana is still my #1, even though I can’t stand her sometimes The music still slaps after 8 years, tho!
  24. Rewatching these today after class and submitting my rankings, hope it’s not too late
