trayertrash 7,211 Posted January 22, 2019 ABBA is a Swedish disco-infused pop/rock band consisting of the Agnetha Fältskog, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Björn Ulvaeus, and Benny Andersson. Together, they created some of the most iconic and beloved songs of all time including the undeniable hits Honey Honey, I've Been Waiting For You, S.O.S., Mama Mia, Fernando, Dancing Queen, Money Money Money, Knowing Me Knowing You, Take A Chance On Me, Voulez-Voulez, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! A Man After Midnight, I Have A Dream, Super Trooper, and, the greatest breakup song of all time, The Winner Takes It All. Just seeing the titles strikes internal melodies and a need to boogie. Through the years, their music has inspired the acclaimed Broadway musical Mama Mia, as well as 2 films, Mama Mia! (2008) and Mama Mia: Here We Go Again (2018) Their contribution to music has not been lost thanks to acts such as Kylie Minogue and Madonna paying homage to the band throughout their careers. Despite the notion that "disco sucks" and "disco is dead" stated by fans of the metal community (and the DISGUSTING user Terrence Loves Me) ABBA's 1992 compilation album Gold: The Hits has outside nearly every rock and metal album in history, and debuted during an era described by many as the death of metal. In April 2018, they announced that, after a 35-year hiatus, they would be returning to the music scene. Their double A-side singles, I Still Have Faith In You, and Don't Shut Me Down are scheduled to be released in 2019. Discuss why you are thankful for their music below

Gone user 5,373 Posted January 22, 2019 The best thread on this forum. I said it. I vividly remember growing up hearing ABBA's Dancing Queen playing in the living room while my mom cleaned the house. In 2016 I was playing a music game and suddenly that same song started playing and something strange moved through my body. I fell in love with the melody all over again, as if I was a 5 year old going to the living room to listen to that song once again. My love for ABBA really made me become closer to my mom. I've been a bitter, silent teenager for some years but ABBA melted the ice wall between my mother and I. I've watched documentaries and read millions of articles about them, they are a legend I can't get tired of. Some of my favorite songs are these ones. Please guys listen to them! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r82fyOb8F5w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzSI4YF89X4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZ7C127Q-GY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w2guKFEzVPI

Beautiful Loser 49,695 Posted January 22, 2019 I recommend the abba museum if you’re ever here, I thought it was kinda fun even though I’m not an abba fan and never play their songs. Worth a visit. 2 Quote LB DEMOGRAPHICS SURVEY 2024 | SECRET SANTA 2024
