The reason why everyone else is standing in horror at the sight of their precious country club burning and why Lana is getting away on a golf cart with a slightly unbothered expression is meant to represent the chaos of the culture that she said she kind of knew would erupt in the Interview Magazine interview with Jack. She’s essentially realizing and renouncing the rhetoric that’s been a disservice to her that only NOW people are waking up to. I’m hoping we get a similar kind of narrative where she’s talking about how she’s telling her own story and realizing her own differences from what’s percolating in the ether currently. Hope you like it! Expand This is exactly the kind of energy that I'm expecting from COCC, you've encapsulated it so well! I hope that the real cover will share the same vibe and this same sense of movement since, as previously said by @vodkaa, a dynamic shot would be really nice! Btw, you're so talented but this is common knowledge by now! Amazing as usual 4
Make me your Dream Life Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 this is gonna be a strange question. but do u think Lana gets the picture taken and sees if it vibes with the record first? or that the person taking the photo has already listened, and then takes the photo? like, music to visuals.. do u think she's shared it with whoever took the cover photo? like wow how lucky would that person be
GeminiLanaFan Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Thank God for your covers to distract us! 4

I think it’s going to be the latter, since she got BRTHR to direct the video for the title track and they’re always doing the most, and after the NFR cover, I think she’s going to continue down the route of having the covers be more self-fulfilling in an prophetic kind of way - especially with a record that’s coming out during this time of her life when she’s expressed having so many revelations in the last year. Expand yes, I hope so too in the end, the only thing that I actually don't enjoy that much is the font and comic-inspired lettering but I'm not getting those vibes from her current record (based on like the few crumbs of content we have so far ☠️) 1

I feel like we might get something really serious font-wise, because she doesn’t seem to be in a space as light as NFR. She said that she listens to the record and thinks “work” so I think we’ll see a slightly more stoic font to balance out a really dynamic and pictorial cover. 1
domandapiano Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 The NFR cover is gorgeous and her best most interesting cover and that’s that on that. The font is ugly as hell for sure though. I want a font similar to lust for life. what I don’t want is just a boring pretty picture of her as the cover 16

spencertaureanmartin Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 tf her nfr cover is her best, I love the font, Duke, the painted sky and the fires in LA, I loved her outfit too. 11

Expand I don't dislike the font per se but I feel like it crowds the pic too much like it'd be a fun quirky addition to the album if it was elsewhere (like on the back, but also it's so nice like it is now and I don't wanna ruin it) or even if the text was simply smaller (actually not even necessarily the text itself, but the balloon behind it) 2

Fart Deco Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 I kinda like the NFR! cover, I’d prefer it if it was textless tho since there’s already too much going on (and I’m not really a fan of that font)... Something like this would’ve been perfect, imo Reveal hidden contents sorry I don’t remember the artist’s name, I’ll edit this if I’ll find it! I wouldn’t mind a textless COCC cover even if the title is too iconic to be left out... I don’t know what to expect, honestly! 9

Expand unless the photographer is Chuck but I also feel like the vibe she's trying to capture is something that speaks to her in her life at that moment, so whoever discusses her vision should know just about enough to give her what she wants (cuz in the end Lana wants a cover that represents her ideas, even if it's not the best universally agreed on choice by a third party) 2
NikoGo Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 Not gonna lie I was super hopeful for news today but alas I’m starting to think the record is still a good amount of time away 2 "Don’t forget me"
clementines Posted September 10, 2020 Posted September 10, 2020 the nfr cover is only bad because of the outfit... it would have been better if she was wearing all white with the contrast of the land on fire behind her & the font of the alt. cover 2
