I know she already has legend status but still, I can't help but feel like if she made an album as sonically dynamic and hard hitting as UV again she would be propelled even further into a new level of legend status. Let's be honest, a vast majority of Lana fans want an album that is bombastic with guitar, drums, and a fiery attitude... not sleepy piano ballads (though they are still nice)

I’ve been thinking so much about this lately! Surely she’s noticing songs like the other woman, star girl, Brooklyn baby, Dealer etc going viral lately. Like, a whole new audience is rocking with those songs and proving once again just how fucking good they are and how appreciated they are. If she served up another album with a UV / dark  trip hop surf rock etc etc sound it would literally cement her as a legend. Period.

Exactly! It's so interesting seeing the younger new fans flock to an almost 10 year old album and make songs rise naturally. Goes to show how UV really hit this emotional high that many people crave to hear

Most of my favorite Lana tracks are piano-based and not bombastic, but I agree. She's been 'inward gazing' long enough, lyrically and musically, at least for many of us.

 

How fantastic would it be to hear her command the studio, the mic, and the stage and really create some sonically stunning music. 

 

But as I have noted before, when songwriters start writing about their families, children, parents, etc., and in some cases, allowing them to participate on an album's creation, it usually means they're heading towards middle age at the speed of light and things get cushy, flaccid, and sentimental for a long spell, and then, realizing they're 50, they do an about-face and try to show the world they're still a mighty force.

god i hope so. i’m aching for some throat punching lyrics. subversive lana. i was pondering how her relationships may or may not influence the vibe of whatever she writes. or the intention / words and her being w the guy jack from salem gives me hope for some darker / riskier / fun / grunge lana but i am worried it’ll be more piano driven(also love just bored of) id love her with a cigarette in leather at the mansion in RI, something glamor grunge. ugh

So Lana is in Rhode Island right now, and is presumably going to NY around the 4th, manifesting another Gucci show-esque look & an album trailer

10 days seem like a long time for one video. Lana’s most ambitious visual projects (Tropico, Ride, National Anthem) were all shot over the course of 2-3 days, so I’m guessing they’re either planning to do as many projects as possible in that 10 day period OR one project that is extra grand. Assuming this is indeed Lana-related, I’m excited!
