tbh i feel like a lot of marina songs that leaked got lost/stopped circulating. i remember on my old laptop i had this mix of jealousy that leaked in 2020 but wasnt included on the wiki or any masterposts i could find, actually i think i originally got it from here in a folder of "og files". then of course, the og files of a lot of older songs (troubled mind, this is la, philosopher my arse) just werent available online easily via the masterposts and such, i ended up finding them through olllddd tumblr accounts and asked a discord server for the og files of troubled mind and this is la at one point. and then i know someone who had to dig up leaked electra heart demos through the depths of old tumblr accounts too...

 

i have no idea why this happens so much with marina specifically but god is it annoying. i was working on an old masterpost full of all the less common files i had gathered but gave up on it half way through and i no longer have any of them because i didnt transfer them to my new laptop. people just love to shorten her leaks then reupload them for whatever reason 

 

edit: been downloading that dbree link for like 5 minutes and its still not finished

i actually used to work on an old masterpost with spinmeround and another person in like 2023! we fell apart, but their masterpost is great

 

really gives me a crave to actually continue working on a masterpost of my own, i have a few unfinished ones. probably would be mitski if anything

i’m dying for more new music. what i’ve noticed though is butterfly got very tired quick but cupid’s girl i can see being a little more timeless… definitely have been playing it a lot more than butterfly on a day-to-day basis and will continue doing so. i can also see butterfly being the fan least favorite off POP

 

Princess of Power’s title track will be released next month alongside the album announcement slated for a june release

butterfly fared well with the general public from the looks of it. i’ve noticed those who’d disliked it were only longtime fans who evidently expected much “more” from her. everyone else seemed to enjoy it. i assume Cupid’s Girl will be the same this time around, though there will be less who disliked it and more who enjoyed it judging from the small sample size that is this thread, lol. personally though, judging from the leaked snippet, Princess of Power might be the fan favorite amongst the three singles.

Thinking about Mans World today….

 

i feel like a lot of people didn’t care much for it… but it’s weirdly one of my faves from her post-2015… 

 

it almost doesnt feel like it belongs on ADIAML, but, i think it’s just so catchy… the lyricism and vocal delivery is very froot, reminds me of savages. the production is so nice too… simple yet slightly quirky and effective…

I remember many of us being extremely hyped and with high hopes as it was her first single after L+F. We wanted her to redeem herself, and oh boy, she delivered. 

 

Not only it's one of her best political songs, but also one of the best on ADIAML. I remember people dragging the second verse lyrics but I LIVED for them because she was dragging the Sultan of Brunei who proposed death penalty for homosexuality in the country back then.

"stars in my hair running like a waterfall" is one of my all time favorite lines she has ever written. the imagery is just beautiful.
