Donald Trump & JD Vance Win 2024 US Presidential Election

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez - who was a progressive but became a centrist AIPAC simp - attacked Jill Stein on Twitter.

Now I'm not voting Jill any more but I couldn't imagine a more hypocritical person to attack her.

it was clever but infuriates me. Democrats go out of their way to sabotage the efforts to do exactly that.

They're doing it in Georgia RIGHT NOW, for example.

Why doesn’t Jill stein try to run for a more realistic office rather than president every 4 years? Jill Stein deserved that.

the democrats have a lot to criticize for but attacking Jill stein is not one of them

She didn't run for President this year bc she wanted to. She ran bc both Howie Hawkins and Dr. Cornel West didn't want to run (at least, in West's case, run for the Green Party).

The Green Party runs candidates EVERY election for EVERY position it can. In my state (PA), it runs for every position. Democrats go out of their way to edge them out. They know the Greens can be a viable threat to them if given room to grow.

okay and that’s fine but what has Jill Stein, arguably the most well known Green Party person, ran for since 2020? 2016? Nothing. I’m not denying the democrats do everything they can to shut them down 3rd parties but the Green Party is also extremely shady. AOC did not step out of line calling her out like that, she deserved it.

you're right re: her not running for anything other than President. I don't see how the GP is shady though.

I just feel like AOC is doing too much. Especially since AOC herself used a non-mainstream political organization to get into power (the Democratic Socialists of America) then abandoned DSA when they became no longer politically useful to her.

A potential second Trump Presidency would seek to privatizing Fannie and Freddie (The Federal National Mortgage Association and The Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation): https://www.wsj.com/politics/policy/trump-allies-are-working-on-plans-to-privatize-fannie-and-freddie-a9c4e5ff?mod=hp_lead_pos1

Fannie and Freddie are GSEs chartered by the government in 1938, and their primary purpose is to buy and gaurantee mortgages issued through vendors in the secondary market. In essence: they ensure the redistribution of mortgages and money in the mortgage market, so that middle America can secure a loan to buy a home.

Why does Mer think privatizing it is bad? Simply put, we lose control of the mortgage market (and, essentially, the housing market) if the US Govt. sells of Fannie and Freddie - especially if they are sold to Wall St, Saudi Arabia, and whoever else may be hiding behind shell corporations.

I watched more of the Angela Rye nonsense and yo, if Jill Stein were so bad and so wrong, why did she (Rye) need to weaponize identity politics and talk over her the entire time in order to shut her down?

Jill Stein eating dinner with Putin is enough to call the party shady if that’s who they’re supporting as presidential candidate

This right here. Don't get me wrong The Dems annoy me on a good day and piss me off often, but the Republicants (I had a different vowel but warning points being what they are) are evil morons so until we move beyond first past the post I can't really seriously consider a third party, especially one with organizational messes like the Greens. I will say a lot of Jill Stein criticism is silly or in bad faith. I actually do admire her a little but the facts being what they are, voting for me is more of a defensive act then a offensive charge.

I always catch myself surprised when I read things like these and see words like “we”. Are you a homeowner? Live rent free? Rent? HCOL or LCOL? The government already has a monopoly on the housing market for people in places such as New York City.  The government is more responsible for high home and rent prices than “Wall Street”. These are all things most people already know from where I live, though. Perhaps you’re somewhere else or living rent free in a LCOL area. I’m not sure.

voting Jill Stein is a wasted vote and pointless - she should be on trumps payroll at this point

Not voting Jill but also not voting mainstream party but:

IMO we will never get real change until someone is brave enough to act. I'm tired of Democrats and Republicans make me sick. We need better.

I don’t think anyone here cares or needs to know my personal financial situation - I just strongly don’t think Saudi Arabia should own the American Mortgage Market…
