Limelight 4,708 Posted October 28, 2014 Is someone else buying the Island package? And I strongly dislike Ripple. BLUE was on its way to be the most flawless album ever but Ripple destroyed it. I hope it will grow on me but it's just a mess. What were them thinking? The Last Dancer and Shadowshow make up for it though (both are perfect). National Anthem 9,904 Posted October 29, 2014 Okay so I listened to the three new tracks and they are BEAUTIFUL "shadowshow" especially is phenomenal. I can't wait to rank all the tracks again in a few days when I've let these new songs settle a bit. I agree with most others, "ripple" is a bit off-putting on initial reaction, but I almost like that it and "tap your glass" are a bit different from the rest of the bunch. I feel like I just need more time with these two and that they are just less immediate for me. Sometimes the songs that grow more slowly on me become favorites in the end ("ARTPOP" by Gaga is a good example of this, a real slow-burner). This album is just so incredible and a perfect mirror to the dark and grimy and kin, which I love equally in a different way.
