As a SUCKER defender it's very entertaining to look back and see the turmoil that album caused LanaBoards at the time of its rollout  Meltdowns over Break the Rules existing, meltdowns over her removing old songs from her tour opener setlist, everyone and their mother calling her a sellout and a disappointment. Meanwhile I was just vibing, looping the record front-to-back on my cheap MP3 player

Charli really came through at the right time for me.
 

I was so tired of the kind of music I was into at the time, finding a lot of the newer talent at the time (Charli included) to be a breath of fresh air, and then not even a year later, Vroom Vroom was making the rounds on the internet and my brain exploded.   

It’s like Charli eased me in, gave me what I needed with SUCKER, then I went back to discover True Romance which primed me for what was to come, and then she went in for the kill with Vroom Vroom.

- just choli fighting her demons in hell
- Sonically sounds like heavy pop vibes

 

On My Mind:
- emphasizes both the psychedelic atmosphere and cute aesthetics as the pop ish sound

See for me most of those are such a different vibe, sound, and production from the rest of TR, so they get their own album for me.
