dsvelca 837 Posted August 30, 2015 I think most people here dislike Body Electric, but i really like the lyrics from the bridge- My clothes still smell like you, And all the photographs say you’re still young. I pretend I’m not hurt And go about the world like I’m havin’ fun We get crazy every Friday night, Drop it like it’s hot in the pale moonlight. Grand Ole Opry, feelin' all right Mary's swayin’ softly to her heart's delight.

VegasBaby 895 Posted August 30, 2015 She has the potential to be a great song writer (see Elvis) but repeats herself with words that seemingly don't mean anything apart from sounding pretty. It may mean something to her undoubtedly but if I hear another song with 'boy blue' or 'red dress' or 'pale moonlight' in one more time.. It's just a bit lazy imo. 1 Quote Sweeping scents and blue hydrangea. Summer hail and summer stranger.

BlueJeans 2,608 Posted August 30, 2015 Brooklyn Baby - They judge me like a picture book, by the colors, like they forgot to read Never understood that line I always thought she said "cover", like "Don't judge a book by its cover" ? I think Lana Del Rey has some amazing lyrics, some less good and some quite bad. I couldn't get over "Cry tears of gold like lemonade ". But the melody usually makes up for those. About the recurrence of certain words ("red dress", "pale moonlight" etc ...) I think it actually sort of build her universe and it creates a form of intertextuality within her own world. Actually bad lyrics Diet Mountain Dew Lolita American Burning Desire Fucked My Way Up to the Top Honeymoon (+ millions of unreleased tracks) Wait wuuuuuut
