So what is the consensus on this album, great or not?

At 16 songs, the album gets really weighed down by the weaker ones.  I made a 10 song playlist of my favorite songs from it, and I realized there was a great album hidden within Lust for Life.  Here's my 10-song "perfect album" version:

1. 13 Beaches

2. Cherry

3. White Mustang

4. Summer Bummer

5. Groupie Love

6. In My Feelings

7. Beautiful People, Beautiful Problems

8. Heroin

9. Change

10. Get Free

Lana's most divisive track ever turns 2 today. What are your thoughts on the song after two years of it's release?

honestly i don't think it's all that bad anymore ahahahaha

blue eyes, and jazz, and attitude

i think her heart was in the right place when she wrote coachella, i just think it was uh... quite reductive and this really contrived attempt at pushing herself in a different direction. i think she was really out of her comfort zone and it just came off corny as hell

There's things I wanna say to you, but I'll just let you live

I always liked it. I still do.

It's not one of my favorites from the record but it's so hopeful… I love the melody.

The only thing I don't like about it is her voice. It's obvious they took the vocal recording from the perhaps acoustic demo, and produced the trap instrumentation with it.

She scrapped BAR then put this abomination on the album  :awk:

well let’s see... the weird vocal filter is trash, the production doesn’t fit (pseudo-trap??) and the lyrics sound like she made them up in 20 mins, don’t even seem to go with the song.

like the pronunciation of “to ask HIm one queee-stion” is so..... :toofunny:

i still cannot believe y’all hate this album...

like no, it’s not her best work compared to ultraviolence and honeymoon,

but damn,

she really snapped with some of these songs.

maybe it’s because i haven’t listened to LFL in a long time,

but it’s a cute record.

I will only accept it when Yosemite, Roses Bloom For You, LFL Blade Runner demo, etc leak and I can change it as I see fit.

I'm kinda focused on being a baddie right now. I can't really work.

i was going through the album with a friend because we were arguing on whether it was a good album or not and i realized i only like 8 out of the 16 songs.... which is half the album :toofunny: idk it would’ve been improved immensely for me if she just threw away all the collabs other than sb/groupie love (those should have been singles) and never even have thought of coachella. and maybe just have white mustang as a leaked unreleased track :oprah3: but i’m just nitpicking now. it’s really collabs/coachella that need to go

When I first heard Love all I could think of was how similar it sounded like Flipside

i think it's just because there's too many mediocre songs: white mustang, in my feelings, coachella etc.

but imo the album is pretty from god bless america down

also nfr makes me appreciate this era's visual consistency

this song is highkey what started the mass lana x trap beats hate

If it was a short acoustic interlude it would've been amazing, but the cheap production and last minute lyrics ruin it for me.

I personally love Lana's voice over trap beats but this song's just not it.

I think it might be her favourite track on LFL, though. She legit talks about it in almost every interview from 2017/18.

Maybe if we have a Coachella streaming party she might give us NFR ...
