Mark Salling Dead at 35 of Apparent Suicide

Mark Salling is dead of an apparent suicide, according to law enforcement ... TMZ has learned.

We're told his body was found near a riverbed in Sunland ... the area where he lived. We do not yet know the manner of death. We're told he may have died after hanging himself.  We've learned the address where Salling was found dead near a little league field adjacent to a creek. 

The former "Glee" star was awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography involving prepubescent minors. Prosecutors say he had 50,000 images of underage children.

Damn. Who would have thought when he was staring on Glee and such that this was where his life would go. I feel for his family. To be hit with the arrest and now this. There has to be a lot of shock and disbelief and now grief on their end, I'd imagine.

i really loved glee and i already had a hard time watching it because of cory's death, pedophilia is disgusting and idk what to say but it's still kinda weird especially when you think about what must've been going on in his head to do this. being publicly outed as a pedophile, having your gf leave you, dealing with the legal issues and court because of it and never being able to do anything again (i mean it's still his fault because of his ''preferences'' but yaknow?)

i said it's his fault and that what he did is disgusting. i just really loved glee and it's hard to watch it without being reminded that xyz is dead and what kind of garbage human that person is. and you're right by saying he's a coward since he did this right before going to jail for years.

Wow, I'm so shocked at his suicide. I always found him to be a cocky narcissist in his interviews, but the child pornography charges were still quite surprising to me when it all came out. And now he's committed suicide. Such a tragic story, especially considering all the people whose lives were affected by this disgusting abuse of minors, and now his death.

 

Hard to be upset at his suicide, though, considering what a horrible person he really was.

Wow, no need to drag the entire show just because one dude was an abusive idiot. 

Although it went downhill in the last few seasons, Glee should actually be praised for its positive and open representation of gay relationships as well as it touching upon and handling with sensitivity issues like school shootings, coming out, trans rights, mental illness, and suicide. Especially at a time when there was hardly any realistic representation of gay/bi/lesbian/trans characters on mainstream television and in films.

 

No need to bash the show in its entirety. Yes, Mark Salling was a douche but I don't think the whole series should be discredited because of the disgusting choices one of the actors made.

Just so you all know, the final season was actually really good. Like, the writers learned from their mistakes with season 4-5 and made things better. I am open to a reboot with a different school in 2023 #makeithappen
