I really like the pure, angelic tradwife vibes of the single cover, but that Spotify picture is truly striking... The nighttime/darklit version just adds some depth, something extra... (southern gothic? )

 

I don't want to be like "I want another dark album cover", but... I want another dark album cover.

This is my only (minor) issue with the song... Lana's a master at making super long songs feel like 2-3 minutes. I understand it's already lengthy at 5:11, especially for 2025, but it clearly wasn't over...... It feels like they felt pressured to wrap up because of the length, but I wish she would have vibed out with that beautiful ending a little longer. Those strings and stacked harmonies, I would not have been mad at a 6 minute track whatsoever.

 

.... Then again, one of my biggest dreams as a Lana fan is an album full of super long songs where she just indulges in them for as long as she wants to (think like 8-9 Venice Bitch/A&W).

I’m gonna posit that “Henry” is an amalgamation of every difficult relationship she’s ever had with a troubled man; Henry, a “country singer” is just a motif for this kind of guy. Maybe she wanted to write a song about the difficulties of being with a ‘music man’ (generalization for a noncommittal guy) like the Henrys in her life—but at the same time, these lines could also reflect how SHE might have made others feel at times, because she *is* and has been the ‘music man’ to the men throughout her life, some of whom may have struggled with that power balance. A traditional country song theme that can walk on both sides of the line, but in a fresher way with strings and Lana-isms.  soft leather, blue jeans <3

Yeah I thought the song ended abruptly. Maybe it would flow into an another song? And I felt like the bridge “These country singers” part starts and ends little disconnected with the next chorus but anyways. i love her vocals sm yoooo. Reminds me of her 2011-2012 baby vocals actually. I like this song! Would actually listen to it over and over again. 
 

edit: and dang what’s with insiders earbuds really… saying this song would be as bland as change from LFL. Like the way they said watercolor eyes would sound like fuck it i love you and dark but just a game…
