Tbh I can’t tell yet😭 I feel like it’s the lead but I could also see it being a promo single and then us getting the true lead when the pre-order drops.

For sure it's the lead single. And one of her best lead singles at that. The only other times Pitchfork gave Song of the Week to her lead single before was Love and Video Games. Yep, not even Ride or West Coast or High by the Beach or Ocean Boulevard got this honor.

 

Unless Tough is on the record, which I would love but doubt. In that case, Tough would technically be the lead single.

some people have said here and on social media that the "last call hey yall" sounds similar to "we clawed we chained" part.

 

so many people on reddit have said that as well and i curiously checked the latest comments on wrecking ball music video on youtube and so many people brought out the comparisons lmao.

 

i can already imagine that guy from tiktok making a video where he sits behind his computer and pointing his finger out to those similarities

I hope more than a few songs on the record feature this lavish instrumentalisation and arrangements.

 

Because OB kinda promised that with the lead single... but the orchestra was rarely to be heard again on the record.

It's definitely grown on me a lot since listening to it on repeat a lot since yesterday

I still can't understand like half the lyrics though.. then I look them up and completely forget what they are when I'm listening to it later

the strings near the end in particular are gorgeous

I just listened to it with headphones for the first time and wow.  I can’t get over how beautiful this is. Very melodic but country, also love the harps, strings and just everything about the instrumentals. Glad this single wasn’t super stripped down. I can deff see the vibe of the album after hearing this and it makes me soo excited!!

It’s the lead, but Lana seldom cares about singles these days. She hasn’t even posted about the release on insta…she’s in another world. Be lucky to even get a music video this era.
