Does it really matter if you tell your friends you listen to alt music while they are in reality extremely aware of the fact that you just play 3 lana albums a day lol

I dont really care what other "music proffesionals" consider Lana's genre. To me, she isn't pop. When i wanna hear pop music i'll listen to Charli XCX or Lady Gaga or Lana's unreleased. Her music is alternative with elements of other genres but that doesn't mean she is a pop artist.

only time it is done now is Holiday/Christmas/New Years, which is why a Christmas or Peace for the Holidays song would be great 

 

Radio don't play much Elvis or Beatles anymore, however, around Christmas all one hears is War is Over/Give Peace a chance

i agree. lana has never been a stand alone "pop" artist to me because her whole persona and genre is defined as alternative. she does have some instrumentals here and there that do have a sense of pop but under all that she still has an alternative flair to her.

I consider Lana to be alt-pop, though she is categorized by iTunes in the alternative category.

 

But quite frankly, guys, the debate of Lana’s genre is not super relevant because the genres are a bit blurry these days : pop borrowed from RnB sounds, from Latin or even country, alternative became more popish...

 

One thing’s for sure though: Lana’s music has many influences and that’s what makes it so rich. And if we compare her to other pop female artists, she has a very unique sound and voice (thank God).

The people who want to stunt Lana’s growth as an artist.... Girl get a grip, get a job, suck a dick, live a little bit. Even Lana herself said she hadn’t listened to Ultraviolence in 3 years and probably because that OBVIOUSLY wasn’t a good time for her at all. Legit, we will probably never see an album like it again, but that’s okay because why do we need **ANOTHER when we have the OG?

 

With that being said, Jack is going to bring so much to Lana’s music that we have never seen before or only got glimpses of in her more upbeat unreleased songs. Aka “Pop Lana”

And finally I'm not ashamed of being a lana trash and loving these albums but since you've put it that way maybe you're the one insecure about it?
