  1. wait okay i actually did just want to point out that Blue Banisters was actually recorded simultaneously alongside Chemtrails; the first song recorded that’s not an outtake was Beautiful in February 2020, and the last song recorded was Sweet Carolina in June 2021. Ocean Blvd as an album is actually the one recorded in around 5 months, but that doesn’t really mean anything considering that most of UV was tracked in 6 weeks too
  2. they were recorded at the end of 2021, or at least the demos were. considering the fact that lana always works on multiple albums at the same time, or at the very least one immediately after the other, it’s not really fair to call them “scraps” from Blue Banisters. the person who was selling Ocean Blvd and Fingertips in September probably only called them Blue Banisters outtakes because they were recorded very close to when other songs on Blue Banisters were as well, but that’s not uncommon for lana at all
  3. this is everything i can remember in this moment, i’m probably forgetting some stuff though • like you said, the album has 14 songs and 2 interludes. the pastor interlude is a recording of his sermon • the track that SYML is credited on is an interpolation of his song “I Wanted to Leave”, which is an instrumental piano piece • the album has many long songs that are very wordy • track 4, “a&w” was originally called “American Whore”. BOZ said “a&w” makes no sense as a title, and if she wanted to abbreviate it like that it should’ve been “aw&j” • the song title of the Rockefeller snippet has been hidden in plain sight all this time, but nobody has guessed correctly. he said that we already have the title for that song and to “look smarter, not harder” to find it • the album doesn’t have any outtakes on the track listing from previous albums’ sessions. all songs were recorded late 2021-early 2022 • it doesn’t sound like UV, Honeymoon, or Lust for Life, and in his opinion is a lot better than the 2021 albums by a landslide. it’s his third favorite lana album after UV and NFR • the pastor’s interlude “isn’t his thing” whatever that means and he doesn’t want to talk about it 😬 there’s more too, i’ll probably edit this message with more information as i remember other things

    Charli XCX

i haven’t been checking for charli that much for the last few years but i did love crash; i don’t want to read through the thread that much so i’m curious, do we know yet if charli signed with atlantic again? i knew her contract with them ended with crash and when i was a bigger fan of her a while back she used to talk about wanting to go independent once she fulfilled her deal
  5. oh you’re sick for this because nobody gets me was one of the only songs that really stood out to me and now i can’t unhear this
  6. i mean playboi carti just has random adlibs in the back of the summer bummer chorus and got a feat
  7. rotf at someone being called a “vile bitch” over that conversation i really thought the album cover would’ve settled it boz said that many of the songs will be very long so i’m manifesting 4+ 7+ minute tracks
  8. this is going to be my only contribution to this useless and repetitive topic of conversation that doesn’t even belong in this thread, and i’m only saying this because i think it’s a fun fact; Violet actually wasn’t recorded in a studio, everything is literally just voice memos lana recorded on her iPhone that jack added music on top of. The only thing recorded in a studio on that album were the instrumentals
  9. i’ve said this before but i really don’t think songs recorded a year ago and not definitively scrapped can even be considered “outtakes” from specific projects when you work on albums back to back/at the same time like lana does. the minute those snippets of Fingertips and Ocean Blvd leaked as BB outtakes it immediately rubbed me the wrong way, i was surprised they were even allowed on the site. the only time we’ve had leaks that recent are Architecture (which I wouldn’t be surprised was originally scrapped from LFL because of the leak) and the untouchable five… we all know how that went. Every leak recorded less than 2 years prior to when we’ve heard about it has always been intended and planned for the next album she’s releasing
  10. i am still bummed out, i bought UV and Honeymoon UO when they were being sold retail in 2015, but i was also a child and they were the first records I owned, I treated them like shit i’m happy i have them but they are not in good condition at all. i wish i took better care of them back then
  11. for anyone in the US who still wants the store exclusive and has to purchase from another country since it’s sold out in America, I would recommend buying it from the Canada store!! the vinyl itself is actually cheaper in the CA store converted to US currency than it is in the US store lol. i paid $33 for the record and around $15 shipping, which is about the same as it would’ve been ordering it from the US store at $37 + slightly cheaper shipping i do want to collect every variant but don’t want to spend all that money right now kind of a relief to have the Amazon and webstore variants locked down right now because they are going to be the most limited, and then i’ll just get my hands on the retail and indie versions in March and the standard black at some point
  12. every time i see a certain fake insider in here and then see people continue to eat it up my mood shifts drastically and i have to close this website
  13. Ocean Blvd isn’t giving me LMLYLAW at allll but it does remind me of a mix of IYLDWM and Mariners. maybe it doesn’t remind of lmlylaw because i listened to that song twice and never again
  14. exactly, have you seen that recent interview she did? she seemed miserable, i felt bad for her. that’s why i think she means it when she says that she’s not releasing an album again right now, but it’s also clear she loves music and i can’t see dropping 1 song a year forever being artistically fulfilling so i think we’ll eventually end up getting another album but it’s just going to be a very very long time
  15. she’s threatened and vouched to quit music so many times, i think she means it right now but is gonna be lying in the long run. although i don’t think we’re getting another proper album for another 5-10 years again sza 3 coming 2031
  16. really bummed to say that i don’t enjoy this album much besides F2F, Kill Bill, Nobody Gets Me, Special, and the singles (besides I Hate U) i loved Ctrl and Z because they sounded, and still sound, so different and fresh compared to her contemporaries. but i feel like anyone could’ve pulled off many of the tracks on SOS, it’s pretty cookie-cutter in my opinion. F2F SONG OF THE FUCKING YEAR THOUGH!! song of the fucking year, i was getting ready to turn the album off because i just wasn’t feeling it and then this track started. WHEW. and of course lizzo had a hand in writing it which is sick i guess like another user pointed out, it kinda just feels more like a mixtape, like each song was made for fun in a few hours and then thrown together for the sake of releasing something rather than being carefully crafted and selected. except Good Days. she put her whole heart and soul into that one. i can’t believe you have to listen to the album for over an hour to get to that song
  17. need this track list to l word or be announced EXPEDITIOUSLY it’s all that i have been thinking about
  18. yes, but he was already a pastor and was 27 years old. this was also before his entire career and fortune was built around celebrities, especially mostly progressive celebrities, of course if he still thought this way he wouldn’t say that now, he would lose everything. if he really didn’t still think like that, i would also assume that he would’ve outwardly said something about it since, but he hasn’t. i do not trust him i also think it’s kind of different if just a normal person said something like this in 2005, vs when a pastor said something like this a long time ago. i can’t imagine your religious views changing that much when your job is being grounded in your religion
  19. i trust lana’s taste, she’s not gonna put anything bad on the album, but Judah is not a good guy. That quote from him is from a while back, before his career and fortune revolved around making celebrities and rich people, especially progressive celebrities, happy, obviously he’s not gonna openly say he still believes in that statement today.
  20. in case anyone is interested in hearing Judah’s views on homosexuality tw SA reference direct quote from him!
  21. i’m so scared that it’s gonna be this era’s controversy although if it’s that bad i feel like BOZ would’ve said something other than just “it’s not for me”
  22. i have a feeling it was probably recorded for American Classics and Standards and then she thought it would be a good idea to just drop it then for that charity
  23. I’m really not sure why but I kinda feel like The Grants is gonna give Summertime The Gershwin Version. and i hate that song 😭 the title is giving me that for some reason! BOZ said that the song should’ve been used in an album trailer though so it’s probably really cinematic
